I was going to say he must have an old copy of Tower Talk cause I just checked and like you said they are $39.98 (40 bucks) on line.

I just saw on Ebay, a brand new Futaba 6EX 72MHZ system in the box with four servos, 7 channel receiver, and all accessories for $50.00. Tha's actually not a bad deal if your not too proud to fly an old PCM system. I know I'm not.

Yeah, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the old 72 Mhz systems. They worked beautifully for us before 2.4 cam along and all of a sudden some guys think they are junk? Not really. The ONLY reason I hesitate to use one now is that after using 2.4 for a couple years, I am 100% certain that in the first few flights with an old 72 system, I would forget to extend the antenna before flying and lose a plane.

I did that more than once and creamed a couple of really nice planes. I learned the hard way but the lesson stuck.

Wish I had a Futaba transmitter but since I fly Spektrum this won't help me but it might help someone else.

The folks at Tower must pay attention to these forums, they are having a pretty good sale on Futaba receivers right now and free shipping also.

Futaba also spends a lot of money getting their name out, sponsoring flyers, boaters and 4-wheeler racers plus an Indy car team. Guess who is paying for that? Yuppers, you.

Advertising is a cost of doing business. You don't think HobbyKing operates without a substantial advertising budget do you?

This might be fun to look at. It is Futaba America's main page. List their different business units.

I think it is great Futaba is introducing products at lower prices. It really shows their commitment to the hobby.

I do not understand the complains about Futaba being overpriced. Comparing them to the other reputable brands, they are very competitive price wise.

The new 10J is going to be a great bang for the buck.

Some guys think if anything costs more than the Hobby King knockoffs that it's overpriced. You're right, falcon_56. Futaba is comparably priced with other top tier manufacturers.

Bell used to have an ad that said "if you have a $5.00 head, buy a $5.00 helmet." Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I don't look into other peoples wallets. I use Futaba because it works for me.
