Ankles, feet ,knees, hips, back, shoulders, = a pain in the BUM? I hurt all over. but It is not going to stop me. I really am reminded of my knees when climbing the stairs to my shop and feel like I just ran a hundred yard dash.
exercise seems to minimize the pain so every now and then i put forth the effort.
My situation would be better if I could get assistance to complete my ground level shop. you would not believe the excuses for the lack of help. I tell you this, If the lord permits me to finish it myself you can bet those that would share it are in a world of hurt!
anyway as I did yesterday I will climb the stairs and attempt to get something accomplished in my shop.

Well, if you weren't in TX......
I hear you about the knees, mine are acting up today. Climbing stairs, or just moving and the right one is singing, and can't carry a tune. I also feel like I ran after climbing stairs.
One of the things that makes my back cry is going to a store. If I am on a concrete floor for any length of time, my back starts to ache. My shop is in my cbasement and I put in those 2' square foam rubber interlocking mats, and they make a world of difference, I can be on my feet all day and not complain.

Started with a Cox CL P-40 with an .049 engine. Many crashes, much fun but not a ton of success. Learned how to build the Guillow's kits and amazed myself that I could do it (covering is still a mystery to me to this day). Put it all down for a bit when I discovered women. Picked it up in my 40s and have enjoyed the hobby ever since. Still mainly warbirds but have avoided the P-40. As I tell my wife, still cheaper than golf (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!).

I started when I was 7. I still have my original AMA # 10383. The AMA changed it yeas ago to 1383. If I remember correctly they reserved all #'s under 25000. My AMA card says Leader - Admin, Contest Dir. and Turbine Waiver. Since I'm now 71, I guess I been a member now for 64 years. Back in 1985 I organized the first Ducted Fan Meet at Sepulveda Basin. Anybody on here remember that? Bob Violet came all the way from Florida with his first F-86.

Chuck Berry's dead at the age of ninety He was an inspiration to many of my generation and bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. There's talk of the Stones going to his funeral.
I've covered many of his songs in the various cover-bands I've fronted over the years. Here is in the company of a rather more modern legend...

Back in the late 60's I played drums in a recording studio in St Louis. Chuck Berry would come and did some pre-recordings to hear what he sounded like. I actually got to jam with him several times, while he was waiting for his band to arrive. I can still play "Johnny Be Good" today just like I did back then.

Same here I can't carry a tune in a suitcase!
Wife is leaving town on a short trip with her sister this Saturday and will be gone 4 days. I'm planning on hitting a R/C swap meet on Saturday and build the rest of the weekend. I'm shooting to get he DR-1 ready to cover or close to it. I want to get it knocked out so I can get back on the 182 project. If I can finish them it's Ryan SC and Globe Swift time with a possible Ce Simple Series Staggerwing squeezed in!

Man, I dont have enough time to get done what I want. Need to finish the Cub, the cowl needs repair, and I think I bugered it up, the resin isn't hardening. I need to get a motor installed on the T-Clips, havent yet decided if the Saito 65 or the Saito FG-11 will go on it, need a muffler for the 65. Still trying to repair the cowl for the P-47 so I can make a mold of it and make a new cowl. I also have to take the Saito 125 off my P-51 and find out why it spits fuel and not run. Still have the LT-40 to pull out of the trailer and repair the wing, ailerons need to be rehinged, and maybe replace the single servo with dual.
All this while working on the B-25.

Getting things done is something I don't do very well, yesterday I prepared my mowers for the season and now I am recovering. One slip and and I am covered with scratches and the side of my head is swollen.
SO..........I spent the rest of the day looking for components for a cnc machine. There is much to be done but either I can't afford it or just have too many other things to do...............I need to downsize, soon.
I get to the models at the expense of my honeydo's.

Same here. I have a LONG list of repairs to be done this spring, which will cut into my fly time greatly. Need to repair 1800' of fence, dig out the water line to the barn and repair it, repair the stalls that got damaged by thirsty horses(they got plenty to drink, just not all day long like they were used to, so they damaged the waterers), and repair the driveway. Hoping to have pros come in to do the drive if I can afford it.
I also want to clean out the garage, but its a huge 4 car with a lot of S**T in it. Living where I am, trash haulers are expensive too. I can probably burn a lot of it. Mostly just things we no longer use, as well as scraps of wood from other projects, and things that have been laying around for years.
All that and the regular things that need to be done, like ground care, trees, A LOT OF TREES, and they made a mess this winter.
Am not looking forward to it.

Well of all the stupid stuff to happen, one of those new mowers caught on fire and burnt. I wanted to try them out. I had bush huaged the runway wider and I thought I could finish it mow it. Well the left mower covered the right mower with dry grass I got the garden tractor stuck. I shut every thing off and went to the shop to get a pair of pliers . I couldn't get the pins out with my fingers. Diann was watching and she started yelling FIRE She got the extinguisher and I use a scupe shovel to stop the grass fire. So far they have 10 minutes use. .

That looks expensive Joe!
Hey acdii take a Monokote heat gun to the uncured epoxy, heat usually helps. I know one guy who cures his epoxy in the oven when he builds cowlings it speeds up the curing process. When you think about how hot a glow engine gets the oven shouldn't hurt it.

It can be repaired for less than a replacement. I've bought parts at Sears Parts and another on the 'net through Google search, which was a little cheaper. It's how I've kept our current 13 YO mower with Honda engine repaired, (mows our acre lot and hence gets a lot of use), and the previous Murray's. Nowadays they mold the carburetor out of plastic, may have to replace that also.
