Question Speed Reducer (gearbox) please help.

Greetings:
Am just getting started in RC. I have a brand new little brushless motor. My application requires that the speed needs to be reduced by about 4:1 or 5:1. I cannot find any gear reducers for sale; nor can I find any combination of pulleys or chains or gears that will produce any reduction further than 3:1. Even searching you tube has been fruitless.

Can anyone tell me how to get started?

Thanks

Hi,
Fine link Scale provided.
If you were to provide what BL motor, it would be easier to aid with gearbox options.
Such as if your little BL motor were to be a 12MM with a 2MM shaft, then a GWS IPS gearbox would work.

Also, a pinion gear will be needed and basic knowledge on how to install it.

Wow, that's no "little" motor.

Planetary gearbox may work yet usually are more expensive then offset boxes.

Some boxes that may work; Maxon, Neu, Kontronik, AstroFlight

"Wow, that's no "little" motor. " Go big or go home ?

I think I have enough ideas to pursue.
Thank you everyone !

I don't think I've ever seen a gearbox for a outrunner type motor. If you do find a solution please post your results.

good luck

Lots of options for Planetary geared Outrunner motors.
Pic from Electric Competition Soaring-F5J/ALES/e-Soaring

Some will bolt right on, others may need an adapter;

This seems so odd to me. With all of the DIY builds and people modifying stock items - is it only this newbie who wants to reduce the speed of the drive shaft ?

No not at all-pretty common actually-I find a lot of people that participate in our hobby get stuck in their limited way of thinking and just because they never used a item or they have no knowledge of it they will spew misinformation about it not being available or that it will not work.
