dle 30 runs great inverted
i have an Aeroworks Extra with a DLE 30 for power.
inverted, the motor is great, when rolled back over it seems to load up, miss and will stall at low speeds.
new roto-flow, marginal transition from low to high speed..
i thought of leaning out the low end a small amount.
all suggestions appreciated.
thanks

Yes sir, probably picks up 200-300 rpm and is very smooth. When I roll back over it drops the rpm and starts what I call 4-stroke sound. But the cylinder is upright when inverted.
Thanks for the reply by the way!!!

Sounds like a fuel flow issue. If I recall correctly the DLE 30 has a pumper carb so no float. Is the tank starving in level flight or is it set too rich? I'm just throwing stuff out there but it is definitely a fuel issue. Also, does it run good at full throttle but the problem happens at half throttle or less? That could be a cylinder scavenging problem where fuel tends to puddle in bottom of the piston. Changing the back pressure on the muffler can sometime cure that problem.

top end performance is good, marginal to poor transition and i have excess blow by on the plane.
I have leaned the low end about an 1/8 of a turn but do to weather have not tried it yet.
you agree with this first step? It does have an aftermarket wrap around pitts muffler instead of the stock muffler.

Definitely, leaning the mixture will help if it is a scavenging problem but ultimately the muffler / expansion chamber would be the primary fix if that is what the problem is. Let us know how it runs on the next try.
