The $3.00 servo would probably cost $6.00 in the Local Hobby Shop. It's not fair but it is the way things are and not likely to change in the near future. Economics is the big bear in the woods and is difficult to wrestle.

I've also spent many thousands of dollars at my local hobby shops and even more at U.S. owned hobby businesses. I'll play, why would you put a $3 servo in a $800 plane???

One step further, why would you pay $100 for the same servo available somewhere else for $18?

They are all made in China now and probably have the same internal parts.
They charge $100 because people think they are better because they cost more.

"Probably" is not "the same as" just like "similar specs" is not "the same as" , just like a "clone" or "copy" is not the same as the real deal. HK and other chicoms make their unauthorized cheap clones and in some cases outright copies of other manufacturers products. Again they are not the same and I have never seen where the same $100.00 servo is sold elsewhere for $18.00. The example of the $23.00 solar servo is not the same as any higher priced servo. It may have similar specs printed on its box that resembles those of a Savox but it is not a Savox and from what I have read it does not perform to those specs. I would rather spend the $70.00 for the real deal Savox that I know will work , function to specs, run smooth, and last a long time rather than throw $23.00 at a cheap inferior though somewhat similar servo.

Plus they have great customer service. Those problems you are going to have are already being solved by some guy in long island !

Ohh that's their new clairvoyant customer service, they know what you want before you do. Then you save a ton of money by buying knock off stuff then paying outrageous shipping and argue with them for a month before they send you the wrong stuff.

Lets face it where else can you get a hundred dollar servo for eighteen bucks? And it might even sorta work for a short time under load. so eighteen dollars for the servo and 45 dollars for shipping and what a deal right?

Why anyone still bothers with that two bit bunch is completely beyond me. They do not have a single thing, not one that can't be ordered from a distributor here in the US at a similar or even better price and no inflated shipping charges either. You can even get same day customer service with a single phone call or Email should you need it and they will do everything they can to make you happy instead of doing everything they can to steal your money like Hobby King does.

That hundred dollar servo vs supposedly the same thing for eighteen dollars is pure horse doody from a fan boy or a shill.

Nope, I just don't get it.

That is exactly correct. The reliability of a plane is only as good as the parts and buying cheap junk is a good way to invite failure.

So how much money can a guy say he's spent with them and "had no problems" would you guys believe??
I'm at 5 orders and $700ish,,, guess that makes me a shill and/or a liar, because everything I've bought worked as it should

Seems to me even the strongest HK critics here at one time liked them until they didn't.

Maybe stick with the Crappy Customer service message and quite demonizing guys that haven't had problems yet.

1600+ US dollars and 24 orders.

One problem. Resolved to my complete satisfaction.

Just lucky, I guess.

If I provide you with a screen-shot of my HK purchase history, would you have the grace to withdraw your accusation that I'm "making it up"?

Yes, as soon as it;s clear that pro-HK guys don't "rehearse" their responses.
