Default My RC dog Spanky

Here's a couple of shots of my rc dog Spanky. Spanky is our clubs mascot and attends every fly-in or event we have and goes flying with me nearly every weekend. He always greets everyone who pulls in to the parking area. He's never claimed ownership of any planes but he has claimed a few automobile tires.

At our field I must keep Marley away from the flight line, however he is tied to a long and STRONG rope and settles in,sits down and enjoys the R/C action. After a flight or two I take him on a walk around the perimeter of the field and he likes that. He too nails tires but that is @ home and only when I do not catch him. Nice Dog You have there, maybe our R/C club will relax the rules ,however I think not.

two things....IMAA went bye bye, and so did the dog. He came from GA, and quickly realized it gets COLD up here in New England.

I have long hair Dachshunds (weenydogs), still have four. Sammy was small girl and she love to go everywhere with me especially the flying field. From when she was a puppy to her last day at the field. In her 16 years she made many trips to the field, the guys loved her and watched out for her. In the summer she liked to get under the trucks to get out of the sun. We all looked for Sammy before we moved a truck. Sammy was at all the flying events and my maiden flights for new airplanes. She was the SPADS RC Club mascot. There came a time when her back just gave out, I made some wheel for her so she could still go to the field. Time took its toll and her little body just shut down, but her mind was still alert. The hardest gift I gave her was to put her to sleep. I miss her and her pictures are posted in the Flight Shack at the Flying Field. Here is some pictures of Sammy (2/21/96 --3/28/12).

Sad that she's gone, it's hard to put a close pet to sleep. I had to do the same with a Chihuahua that had been my sidekick for nearly 17 yrs. Took about 4 years before I found Spanky.

Since our kids have grown and out of the house our dogs are major part of our family. You become very attached to a little animals who give you so much love.
Merry Christmas

This is my shop dog, Talle, while on guard duty.

There seems to be a theme to her technique.

Love all the dog pics and stories. They certainly are the best of companions. Sadly, my old shop dog Stormy was poisoned by the local farmers laying down strychnine mixed with food scraps for rat control. Wife and I were heart broken, but then Tammy came along and she has been great. She has a soft mouth so no prop dings!

Yes it seems that way. .My dog Marley is out every morning at dawn when I get in a couple flights out front with my Air Core war birds. Now if I can just teach him to retrieve downed planes..

Marley is used to it as these days I get up around 5:00 and after the coffee is brewing begin working on my latest project. The "Forever Stinson was selected as a project by me back when because I wanted to glue some sticks together however once it was framed up the (work) began and there it sat, where
as my current project I'm pushing on because I want to FLY it..

Where would we be without our furry buddies. I miss Sammy daily, we have 4 other Dachshunds, Jake would like to go with to the field but he is just out of control when does go. Dutch likes to be with me in the shop but he does not like to be around people.

Merry Christmas
Rich

This is me and the mooch pooches, Molly and Timmy, Looking for cookies
They are the welcoming committee for any cars coming in the driveway. Very calm and cool for Jack Russell's. When their boss is out on the flightline, they are sitting down behind him.
