This weather has been crazy this year. Today I was out cutting firewood for when it gets cold. Worked up a sweat, 70 degrees very hot in a long sleeve shirt. Mowed my airstrip yesterday. Going flying tomorrow or the next day.

For or those who only sees white, here is a picture of one of my hayfield today.

BTW, I read that there may be another weather system that may go up the east coast n bring more snow. This thread is giving me the chills.

Thanks.
I haven't flow it from water yet, but it is made to be a seaplane.

1/2 " here in N Ga, dang near shut the county down. Schools were canceled a full 24 hrs before it even started to snow. To say the "S" word here in Ga starts a run on the grocery stores.

[QUOTE=H5606;12167027]Feds gave us wusses half a day Friday and Monday off. Bought a snow blower a couple weeks ago from Sears because the county won't clear snow from our little flag lot street. Glad I did; it was a back saver and would probably have had to call out for a plow job. Went down the main street along with neighbor and his (near twin) blower Sunday to help some neighbors clear their driveways.
QUOTE]

Helping neighbors, in times like this, is commendable. It would have been far easier to clear your drive and go back inside to stay warm.

We've got 12" on the north side of Denver yesterday and today, but it's tapering off now. Snow day for all the area schools today. Time to start digging out.

I had better luck. Although the snow was heavy at times, it looks like we ended up with less than 3".

I can understand the panic in areas that very seldom see snow but here in St. Louis the idiots cleaned out the stores and the town was paralyzed with 2-1/2 inches of snow! I would just like to see one time a snow in St. Louis like the northeast received a couple of weeks ago. The government would have to impose martial law and bring in the military to keep law and order.

Hey Scale , Here in eastern Mass. we have not seen much snow this year as well . I believe the weather girl on TV was saying that by now we usually have had around 40 inches and so far we have had barely 10 inches . It's kinda ironic that when I created this thread the forecasts hadn't yet ruled out my area getting some of the 3 feet that DC got , but all I ended up with was a few inches at best .

So anyway , I gotta ask , Who manufacturers a yellow snow blower ? I see Tom's Ariens is orange , my Husquvarna (Spelling?) is orange , the Sears & Murray are red , John Deer is naturally green , and MTD "yard machines" are black .I honestly can't recall ever seeing a yellow one ?

We got more than three feet here, I think we just about beat out everyone this time. All snow removal was handled from the Weather HQ in Garage #1. Garage #2 keeps the beer cold in the worlds fastest refridgerator and is the storage area for extra fuel. So here is the control center. The Pellets Of Fire are made in China and are pure Calcium Carbonate. Since the Chinese have utterly no regard for the environment the stuff works like crazy. I threw some on a five foot snow drift and it ate a hole all the way to the bottom in about a minute. Didn't need the generator but you never know. The L bracket that holds the chute adjustment on the snow blower broke so we had to make a new one. Fortunately it only took about 20 minutes to repair.

Thank You scale , I have heard the name Cub Cadet but so far I haven't seen one . And Damn Toppers , that looks like what snow up my way usually looks like . Weird weather indeed when the middle of the east coast is getting more snow than the northern east coast , that's for sure !

Topspin, at least you could see part of your vehicle! I used my "little mule" to get around until Tuesday, when I dug the cars out. The snow was still almost up to the windows then.

That was the truck, the indistinguishable lump next to it was my wife's car. Of course the toy cars had to stay in the garage, wouldn't want them to get wet.

St Louis got a whopping 1-1/2 inches of snow on Wednesday afternoon and it again paralyzed the city. I was behind an older person and he was driving a small car, on just wet streets not slick, death grip on the wheel doing 5 mph. I felt sorry for him, but he and others that have his same mentality about snow should stay home and not venture out until summer.

I've always believed that a too slow driver is just as dangerous as a too fast one . The too slow driver pisses everybody behind them off and then people try dangerous maneuvers to get around the 5 MPH moron . It's called "go with the flow" , NEVER be either the slowest OR fastest thing on the road and everyone will get there just fine . I will say that when the computer of the self driving car takes the Human ego/Human error related crashes off of the road , road safety will increase dramatically .

Oh , and snow ? We have had quite the break here compared to last year . In fact I think we're on track to set a record low winter total snow accumulation .
