Default Binding a Skyfly receiver to a Spektrum radio ?

I have always used Spektrum and Orange receivers with my Spektrum DX6i radio. Question, can I bind a Skyfly reciever to a Spektrum radio? I bought a used Airfield P40 plane and it has a Skyfly receiver in it, so I bound it to my Skyfly radio. BUT i prefer the Spekrum radio, and my friend said that it should bind to my Spektrum radio and I thought he was crazy. Can I ?
thanks much.

No. Totally different RF protocol. Use a Spektrum or other Spektrum compatible Rx(Orange/Lemon).
