Hangar 9 and Great Planes are now brothers
So now we'll get a magazine called Horizon Talk?

Tower et al has been going down the tubes for a few years now. A friend of mine who got to be more well-know on the Hobbico side bailed almost 2 years ago when things started going south. They started cutting benefits to cut costs. The employees at Tower now have to re-apply for their present jobs and those that get accepted will now go back to Day One as an employee.
With the Toledo Show this weekend, the talk there should be interesting.

We'll see where the tide flows. I haven't been at all impressed with any offerings from Hobbico or Horizon in quite a long time. The only thing I've been impressed with from Horizon is their line of Spektrum radios... which says alot, as I've been regular Futaba user for over 30yrs. I did buy a low-end Spektrum system about 10yrs ago and it never gave a problem, but I'd used my Futaba's more then anything... but I recently upgraded to a high end Spektrum tranny, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. I'm now converting everything over if I can.
Other then that though, I'm more impressed by smaller outfits that are actually carrying the load. There's several seemingly smaller outfits that have been great, and somehow offer more then Hobbico and Horizon combined. Oh well right.
