Default converting great planes and others to standard terminology

After many years out of the hobby, I am slowly getting back in. Electric back in the day was kind of like black magic with big batteries. Now I have lots of planes that I want to convert to electric. I have a really large Great Planes Cub and have found that a GPMG4740 rimfire is what I need. BUT.... I am wanting to go to other brands that are cheaper. I cannot find the information I need to make an accurate decision since they do not give out on the motor(s). Suggestions a website or kind of how to judge sizes of the electric motors in reference to size of aircraft or nitro equivalent?
Thanks

I saw just this morning where Motionrc has a line of electric motors which are identified by the size of piston engines they would be a replacement for. The same goes for the Eflite motors.
