RE: Tower Hobbies Catalog
Actually, I didn't notice catch the price increase.
I flipped through it, and noticed that many of the manufacturers other than the ones owend by them are no longer in the catalog. Big drop in selection.
After that, I tossed in the pile that doesn't get looked at much.

I haven't gotten it yet, but if it is the main catalog, use it just for reference and not pricing. Look on the internet or call them to get the current price. You can't count on the catalog for that.
As far as selection goes, they have less and less in it every year for the last 28 it seems. They still have stuff to sell so they must be selling something, but it is kind of a drag that they have dumped a lot of good lines. Just makes them that much harder to find. Guess it is all in the numbers and what they must do to keep sales up.

I got it too, didn't notice too much than the usual 10% increase. what I did notice was the decrease in what I term "real" RC kits and accessories and a increase in a lot of foam toy crap.
The boat section is almost completely gone.

RE: Tower Hobbies Catalog
The Tower Catalog isn't the "RC Bible" it once was. I'm surprised Tower is still sticking with it. The Internet has just about put the traditional mail order catalogs out of business. Witness the Sears and JC Penny's catalogs. I'm glad Tower still publishes it though. I'm resisting hooking up a laptop in my library... err... commode, so paper catalog makes for convenient RC reading material.
Anyhow, for obvious reasons, they would want to showcase their brands and deemphasize others that they do carry. Don't know if some of you remember or not, but for a long long time, Tower never carried Sig stuff - for whatever reason. I thought it was a huge improvement when they finally did. Then again, that was back when kits were still the mainstream.
As for prices, c'mon. Does anybody pay Tower catalog prices? TowerHobbies.com has the real prices, and I haven't seen any price hikes.

The new catalog is not the reference book it once was. Their website still has products listed in the manufacturer's index with Tower part #'s. You can order anything on the website even if it isn't listed in the catalog. Glad to see Goldberg, Lanier and Sig there. One seems to be conspicuously missing, Balsa USA.

"I've noticed that Victoria's Secret catalog is GAINING popularity!"
That's cause you'll get in trouble surfing Victoria's Secret online.
I got my Tower catalog also, it's not quite the same as it was pre internet.

Anyway, the Tower Catalog is permanently fixture above the toilet water tank. The Victoria's Secret catalog, however, is not. For fear of getting this thread terminated, I shall refrain from explaining why.

"Increased likelihood of hemorroids for sitting on the toilet too long". RC Universe, you amaze me. You really can find all the answers you need in here.

A cable running into the can, why didn't I think of that instead of moving the cammode to in front of the computer? It sure would have saved alot of time.
