I am building the Telemaster with the 96 inch wingspan. This is a very nice plane to build. I've heard there is a Telemaster with a12 foot wing. Is this true? Who sells it?

I too am building the Senior Telemaster. Got mine from Hobby Lobby. Hope a 46fx will be enough to fly with. Plane is just about framed up. Just in time for our club's bare bones contest. I have heard mention of a larger Telemaster but don't remember where.
Hope this thead will draw some other Telemaster fliers.

Larry...I've been told by members of my club that it will fly with a.35 engine. I'm using a .61 and they say it will take off at 1/3 throttle with this much power. Web

There WAS a 12' telemaster available from Hobby Lobby but it was discontinued several years back. THey have dropped it and reinstated it before...maybe it will come back again.
Original data published for the SrTele was that it would fly on a .40, and that was back in the 70s when a K&B.40 made .8 horsepower and was a pretty hot engine. A .45 will fly it, but build it light. Battery pack and receiver under the tank, and servos toward the front. You might want to punch some lightening holes in the vertical stab, too, to keep it from being tail-heavy.
I have floats on mine and use an OS.91 Four-stroke. Take off scale-like at 1/3 throttle, or leap off the water in 8 feet with full throttle. With the .91, Floats, and onboard glow, mine weighs 10 pounds.
If I had it to do over again, I think I would use a 2-piece wing and flaps. The LONG wing is a bear to transport, and it floats so much on landing that it uses a lot of real-estate to land. FLoats would help slow it down and steepen the glide.
