I Got My Wings!!
YEA!!!
Well, technically I don't have them yet, but today I completed all the requirements to get my wings. I landed 3 times without killing the engine (in a 15mph crosswind!) but on the 4th try it bounced pretty badly and cut the engine off.
Does anyone know how I can make a Tower Hobbies Trainer 40 less bouncy? I bounced all three of my landings like twice, but even my instructor who has been flying for over 20 years said it wasn't my fault, my plane was like a frog. On any other plane it would have been nice and smooth, because I brought it in very gradually.

Congrats..... your landings will get better and better as time goes by. Flare about 2feet from the ground and keep full up elevator on touch down. There is one thing U should know now though...haha. No more instructors standing with you....everyone will be watching you.....my friend...you are now the club's daily entertainment...hehe. Well, until there is a new pilot.

Keep a couple of clicks of power on the plane until its about to touch down, then cut the power and flare the plane. The reason it bounces is becasue it falls out of the sky.
Amazing thing, I have seen pilots who have flown for years, still have not figured out that cutting the throttle and flaring the plane is not the proper way to land. You have to fly it all the way down.
Just keep a little power on it, and you will have nice smooth landings.

If it has the wire gear that may be part of the problem. If the gear has bent outward and been bent back a few times what you end up with is a plane that doesn't want to land. When it is sitting on the ground look at the bottom of the wing from the side and see if it is level with the ground. If it is angled up in the front than that is your problem and why the plane won't settle for an easy landing. As was stated earlier replace them or wire them together using shaft collars to attach the wire which will keep them from splaying out.
Congrats on soloing and as we say at our field, now don't screw up!

Congrats also'
BB has a good perception of the possibilities, incedence can also be off a bit.
Flying the plane at all times will come with practice, powered touch and goes also helps to learn the 'flying in' as YNOT mentioned.
