Club Newsletter converting to PDF
To make a long story short, earlier this year I sent a copy of a newsletter, in PDF, to the club member that does our web page (the long story is how it got in PDF format). Well he told me PDF is nice and would like to do others if possible. Well I’ve asked around and apparently I need a PDF writer. How much do these programs cost and is it easy to use?
I’m probably close to being fired from the editor position since it’s been awhile since I’ve given up a copy for the web page, attempting to get them converted into PDF.
Guess I need an education in PDF as well. Help!

Check with Adobe. they can and should be able to seel you PDF writer. It is pretty powerful, as you can do a lot with it!! some very cool things!
But, for quality, you gotta pay for it. Expect around a few hunnerd bucks..
www.adobe.com
Apparently a newer version of Word was supposed to 'export' to a Portable Document File(PDF) format.

Go [link=http://download.com.com/3000-6675-10197236.html]here[/link] and try out this program. It's free trial, but only 35 bucks for the full version. And no, I'm not affiliated with them, just did a search on www.download.com for pdf writers.

You need the Adobe Acrobat program, I use it a lot and it's very good. Price is a little over a hundred bucks, if you have any other uses for it, it's well worth the money.

Ballgunner, LOL… I don’t think it’s that easy. Maybe if you threw in some derogatory remarks in your next newsletter about select members that would get you fired.
Beardking, thanks! With a we bit more searching I found a PDF writer that’s free but their ad gets posted too. I did a trial with one newsletter and the keeper of our web page thinks it’s fine.

Go here: http://www.pdf995.com/
PDF995 is a free program that converts documents to .pdf files. Depending on your system, you load it and when it comes time to convert the file, you click print and choose PDF995 as your printer, and it writes a .pdf file instead of printing to a priniter. Very simple.
It is not as good as Adobe Acrobat, but, the price is much better. The files actually come out a little larger than the original file, and they should be smaller, but, again, it's free.

Bill, Thank you for the offer. I would have very likely taken you up on that generous offer had I not downloaded this one and figured out how to use it.
JR, Thanks that’s the one I downloaded. I was under the impression an advertisement gets posted as well, but now that all those newsletters have been posted on the web page all looks good and no ad.
