In all my years of working with forum boards - 99% of the time, when someone says what you are - they are just saying it to garnish attention, and never actually leave. If this is the case, stop whining. If you do plan on leaving, dont let the door hit you on the way out.

Yup, I've seen quite a few of these sorts of goodbyes. People who really want nothing more to do with a website simply stop using it. People who want something else post about how they're going to stop using it.

My experience with the moderators here at RCU has always been a positive one, both as a moderator and a user. If a person has a legitimate gripe it gets taken care of. CH, you were in the military so you know how a chain of command works. If you've got an honest problem with a mod, step it up to a community mod, the community director, or Marc. It's simple and it works.

Sorry to see ya go man.. but i wouldnt let them win...

Nitroaddict- Dont be an ass clown.. ive read a few of your "anal" statements just in the last few months...i guess you feel like a real winner being a moderator and feel like you can be big and mighty by throwing out stupid statements like that.. no one cares so why dont you stfu and keep it to yourself.. let him say what he wants to say and leave...

RCU has a few GREAT mods.. that know there stuff and will bend over backwards to help.. but this clown serves noooo useful purpose

Why would a mod throw fuel on a flame????? This I do not understand. Let the man say his piece and leave if he so chooses. Heckeling somebody as they walk away is not the "standard treatment" I have come to expect (at least from the mods) here at RCU.
(Very disappointing)

Shoot..if I quit posting every time I got cross ways with a Mod, I wouldn't have a dozen posts. Sound off like you got a pair and don't let the man keep you down!!

I agree. There must be a couple more Mods around that can pile on the lad
and anyone that seems to support him. I don't know what his sin is but it must
have been good

Your are correct. I shouldnt have made the previous post, as it was not in core with the values of being an RCU moderator. I let my feelings come before my typing hands. For this I am sorry. I care very much for rcu, and seeing posts such as these rubs me the wrong way, ecspecially when they are not the first problem that has arisen with the original poster, as well as knowing of the original argument.. Again, I should have kept my opinion on this matter to myself instead of posting what i did. I am sorry. Hope not too many members here think less of me for it.

Exactly.

NitroAddict, while you can spell and use good grammar, I fear you have all the other juvenile attributes of many car forum denizens.

Your post was MAJOR unprofessional; grow up, guy.

Steve: Let me come to my moderators defense here. He made a mistake and he said that he was sorry and to me that takes a big man. I have seen a lot of posters in the car forums and to compare him with those that post like they do is unfair. He is a very good moderator and cares a great deal for RCU and does a very good job in a very difficult forum, and he is far from being immature.

Edited for a bad typo, sorry!

As far as mods...I can only react in consideration to how I would approach these post's...FREEDOM OF SPEECH...but after being zapped this morning for my detailed use of the English language I must say after reconsideration I deserved it...But' I was only matching my words to the subject matter of my posts controversy...If we are men, come on, lets be straight up with our thoughts...Although' as I have already said, I believe my comments including the one above are once again a shameless display of miss-guided computer ranter...please pardon a fool this one last time...

MikeL hit the proverbial head of the nail, you either leave or complain but, you don't do both. Let's hear the beef Cyclic, air it out and if your right we'll back you up. Don't just go moping
around here like a whipped dog.

So Nitro showed that Mods are human, yippee, let's jump his sh*t cause he let his feelings known. I'm just sorry he apologized for having an honest opinion here.

Many people take this place way to serious. We are talking about our toys, not curing cancer so everyone lighten up and don't take anything personally. After all it's not sticks and stones we're throwing.

The moderators on RCU have guidelines as to what they may and may not allow. They are given some leeway in how they will implement the guidelines.

Everyone needs to remember that they are people too. When you attack or challenge them, they are going to do what any of us will.. respond. Keep in mind the role they must play.

I have gotten sideways with a moderator on more than one occasion. I have found that GrnBrt and Plane Insane are willing to listen. I have yet to win, however some things have been changed because of those battles. Marc and Michael will listen too. If you have a problem and take the approach Cyclic Hardover did, you put yourself in a position where you may lose face if you later decide you were in error. What is the point in that?

If you really want a free wheeling environment where you can say and do as you please, try the usergroup rec.models.rc.air . No moderators, only good old fashioned mudslinging. I can assure most of you that if you give it a try you will be back.

Yo, Cyclic...

....first let me say that you are a valued Member to alot of the
Fellas on the boards....myself included. I have pictures of your planes
in my personal gallery. Your opinions and advice given out from your
experiences are valued as well.

Yes, there have been a couple bumps in the road....but no one promised
anyone a rose garden. This is not a perfect world....and I thought that
your bumps had been ironed out....but apparantly they have not. []

Lets give it one more shot at the start of this new year....and maybe
we can all learn something....and be better for it. If I can help iron this
thing out....and fences need to be mended....lets get after it.

Lemme know if I can help in this matter....

Your friend, Flyboy Dave.

Just stay with the intent of pissing this mod off - or just leave.

You see these "I'm leaving - don't shed a tear for me" threads and like everyone has said usually the people at least lurk.
