Default R/C Flying in Kailua-Kona

Just got back from a two-week stay on the big island of Hawaii, well I thought I knew where the flying was going on. However I failed to find anybody flying at the old Kona airport during a couple checks.

Any RCU members from the big island? Does anybody know if flying still happens at the old airport?

Don't know about the old airport...Next time you go take a ride over to Keaau and look up Doc Stanley, he runs a small engine repair business and sent me a Shindaiwa 4 stroke to convert..He knows the flying fields on that side of the island, not that far away..I think you can still get there over the road past the volcano house...Or take the saddle road and go through Hilo, don't forget to stop at Hilo Hattie's factory for some shirts...And send me some Macadamia nuts

RCIGN1, I just tried looking up Doc Stanley in the big island phone book I commandeered and didn’t see any Stanley’s or small engine repair businesses listed specifically for Keaau. Do you have a first name because I would definitely like to hook up with a flyer on the next go, whenever that may be.

Suppose I could just call the hobby shop in Hilo to clear all this up.
