If the TV gets turned on I think it takes me a 100 hours to assemble an ARF or months to build something.

when I built my garage, i did wire it for cable. But so far, no tv out there. I listen to public radio a lot out there, cause I like listening to jazz and classical music. Sure is a nice change from some doorknob singing " I love this bar" a million times a day at work.

I am afflicted by two TV's on satellite, one with Tivo. In my shop, no bloody way. I have a
5 CD changer with remote and listen to Dixieland jazz, swing, guitar instumentals and classical from Beethoven on down. Sang Barbershop for 25 years so I play that and sing along. TV - what on earth do I need that for ?

used to have a tv and all the cable and satellite channels that were available but gave all the crap to my ex-girlfriend when we broke up...GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
now i just use the computer and k-lite or e-mule to see stuff that i want...the old (original) star trek series makes great background noise for building. i also made an edited version of "the blue max" (flight scenes only) for when i start on my DR1 project

I dont watch TV much anymore, maybe..... 4 hours at the most a week. Usually my 5 yr. old & 3 yr old are watching the Nickelodian channel. Theres only so much Dora the Explorer, Spungbob, Rugrates I can take. Im usually on the Sim or down working in the shop on a plane.
When Im in the shop I usually have the radio going listening to the oldies. Only time I watch TV is when (DIY,Radio Control Hobbies is on or Outdoor Channel, Inside RC ) is on. So when the kids turn 18 and I get the TV back, then I will start watching it.
I almost fogot to mention...I spend long hours into the night here on RCU
Thank you for allowing me to voice my RC addictions. I am a RC aholic. and this is my story.

My shop TV is always on and tuned to E! channel. How else am I going to keep up on the latest Paris Hilton developments?

Wow! I thought I would be the only one that listened to NPR in the shop. I think I have just joined the normal people club.

No TV. Tried it once during Wimbleton.....can't build and watch at the same time. I listen (kinda) to radio.....news, talk radio, sports at times, music, but if I am really into the project I'm on, I hardly hear it. My neighbor used to come over to visit, and I learned to quit building while he was there, or I'd end up re-doing it the next day. Tunnel vision, maybe?

I bought a nice 19" TV for my shop cause I kept running into the rec room to see something and it would interupt my building. Now I'm considering unplugging the thing because I spend too much time flipping through channels trying to find something to build to.

For 19 years I had no tv in the shop, just a radio. Always got alot done. Now I have cable tv, computer (so I can be online) and a tv in the shop, because wy let $100 go to waist if I dont watch cable. But now I notice I don't seam to get much building done.

Well, I don't have much room since I work in the garage, so I have just a radio. I voted I would like to have one, but after reading many of posts here, I may just stick with a radio. I am build slow enough already, I don't need something slowing me down.
