Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NiCd is the cheapest and has the most chargers available. NiMH can be lighter and requires a slightly different charging method. Some NiCd chargers handle NiMHs; if it can it will say so on the box.
Lithium ion (li-ion) and lithium polymer (li-poly or lipo) offer the best duration and lowest weight but can be expensive and require special (and also expensive) chargers (nicd and nimh chargers can cause lithiums to explode!)

The capacity and number of cells required depends on the exact plane and motor.

Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used NImH and NiCd. I've found good results with both. "They say" NiCd gives more power output for a longer time, then drop off, whereas NImH gives a more steady power through the flight, then slowly drops power. Your flying habits, and pleasures could make the determination.
