Default Annual RC airplane expenditure!

Approximately how much annually do you spend on your RC airplanes and associated equipment?[8D]

Admitting to yourself your RC airplane annual expenditure may cause palpitations and dizzyness!

Well I've been doing this a little over 2 years and shelled out an estimated $2000 (that's just the big stuff mind you. No tthe <$5 purchases on piddly hardware). That comes out to $1000 a year. *faints*

I put down up to $1000 a year. Probably wishful thinking Seriously tho, it could be worse. I could still be into the shooting sports, and $1000 a year there is nothing. Or I could be holding down a barstool to the tune of about $40 a night with nothing but a headache to show for it. That always works on wives.

Works for me! $1000/year vs old smoking habit of about $3500/year. I guess I better go spend some more this year!

Well let's just leave it at my signature.

Really, I thought I would keep track, but have heart murmurs every time that I start to pull out the receipts. I would guess that it is somewhere around $1500 per yr.

I quit keeping track-I got really heavy into flying this year-always was more of a builder before-needless to say I had a six major dumb thumb lessons in the last 4 months-but you know all the enjoyment I get out of the whole sport is priceless-hours on end building, repairing, patching-the fellowship at the local fields-it is really pretty cheap entertainment if you perform a simple ROI (return of investment) or a simple ROA (return of aggravation). I enjoy this too much-I almost feel guilty at times-thanks

I set aside $100 a week for toys.
THis also counts for gifts for family and RC.
I have been doing it for 3 years and I have a balance of about $5,000 out of a total of about 14,000 put aside.

You know i really haven't the foggiest idea what I spend in a year. I buy few kits as I have so many now that I could build the rest of my life and not run out and I have more then enough engines and radio gear. HMMMMMMMMMMMM maybe I'll keep track, NAW!!!!!!

With me was almost like the same. When I bought my first plane in 2000, my parents said they would buy no more. That changed after I crashed it..... 2003 was the most productive year for me: 3 planes.....Guess total expenses for 2003 were around $1500 just for RC planes....

raptor5900,
I see a growing pattern in your expenses, keep like that and next year you will have $4500, then $8500, then $16500...Be really careful about it, specially when asking your parents for money

I sit around cutting airplanes out with exacto knives!!! $500 a year in CA and Balsa. A couple of cheap bushing engines and a computer radio. Crashing may cause heartbreak (cad and ak-models.com doing my laser-cutting cuts down on the #11 blades now)
