Default Field Stand

Hey guys

I'm sure that I saw it in some posting here but my searches turn up nothing. I looking for some sketches or plans for a field stand at the field. It is made with 2x4 or 4x4 and is in the shape of a t with the plane sitting on it's tires. Can anybody point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Dave

We built two of the "T" type stands with the wheels for mobility and they are great. We'll probably build a few more this year. I built the second one and kept track of the cost. $34.52 for treated lumber. I can't remember the magazine it came out in. but I built it like they said and the amount of wood they specify won't do the job. Takes a little more. I don't have the specs or dimensions but do have some pics that you could probably build from. Oh yes, and if you have big planes, you might want to extend the tail piece a little farther to accomodate the tailwheel.

Built two for my club. Some members thought it a bad idea (potential for law suits!!) so I did it at my expense. Now it is suggested that more units would be a good idea since some (bad) guys hog them and don't extend the courtesy of letting others have a chance to use them. Regards.

To not have problems I built 3 leave 2 at field and hall the other one with me alway's have one that way . Don't see where a law sute would come into this unless you had a large plane and the stand had wheels and not staked down.
