Red Neck - a medical condtion found on R/C/ flyers, who spend too much time tinkering on their planes at the flying site. The situation develops when the flyer is crouched over his plane, trying to get somtehing to work, with the rear of his neck exposed to the sub\n, and developing a serious sunburn, hence the term red neck

RE: MalayAsian Hangar
Definitely cheaper, since the LHS are getting supplied from singapore mainly. Benzit, you know Shivlal & sons? I know they closed down, but Shivlal is now based in KL. Can be found hanging around in Hobbytech!!!
I still get stuff ordered from Singapore together with friends, so we split the shipping cost.

I think Shivlal i steaming up with on of the local shops, coz I always see him at hobbytech helping the owner. So it could be a joint effort if he does come back.

Aaaaaaah ... that nice oldman is Shivlal owner. Anyways, only problem about getting stuff from Singapore is the issue of tax, if you get hit its a fair amount and then with that few bucks savings you do not have a LHS to b*tch at if the kit/engine has any problems. Maybe BenziT you can bring it over!!! Let's see what doI need ...

Where the heck do you clowns fly in KL? I was just there visiting family and was wondering who I can hook up with when I am there again. I fly mostly giant scale and speed. What do you guys fly out there? I like to get in touch with locals out there if possible.

Sg Buloh field is not that safe for BIG with SPEED. You have a decent field but surrounded by a couple of factories and a highway nearby. There are some people there with the big 120' planes and more but never see them flying with speed.
Next time you come up just message us here and let's all arrange to meet up, will be a lot of fun. Hey MalaysianFlyer ... when the baby going up?

RE: MalayAsian Hangar
There are a number of guys flying 80"+ planes at sg. buloh, its not a problem, as the runway is big enough. Of course turbines are out of the question
Besides, big planes dont really have speed, its the small ones (Scombat, Wonder, Diamond Dust) that are the fast ones, and those can be flown at Sg. Buloh.
Hopefully will be flying the Sukhoi by this weekend.
Also there may be a night flying session this Friday, in front of Amcorp Mall, for those who have electrics to fly. Most of us will probably be flying the mini Zagi that Hobbytech is selling.

RE: MalayAsian Hangar
I am not saying that its not possible to fly big planes at Sg Buloh, I am sure you can even do smaller turbines there, the issue is safety. There are buildings in the vacinity and hence, BIG and FAST is not a good combination for that site. Just my 2 cents. I have known of RC cars flying out of tracks and hitting kids in the face (about 40 stitches) so safety is something we really have to look into. I notice that some people fly towards the crowd even, just some food for thought. Glitches happen often enough ...
I just got a Zagi from Amcorp and got a few of my car kakis into flying now, I might drop by to see you all fly on Friday night. One of the car LHS owner is now a proud owner of a Zagi, fixing it up for him. He is my guinea pig! Its a nice plane to fix, pretty straight forward and easy.

Yep that Zagi is insane fun. You should hear the amount of yells and laughs when we all fly together, chasing each other.
Unfortunately, although Sg. buloh is not ideal, it is reasonably safe. So far no one has hit a building. I do understand what you mean about people flying into the crowd, there are some irresponsible idiots there who fly recklessly and some don't even bother doing a frequency check.
Hopefully we will have some proper flying sites soon, something I am working on. With some luck, we will have a decent place to fly by end of March 2004.

RE: MalayAsian Hangar
I tried my Zagi this morning ... lovely thing to fly, I can practice my inverted flight with little financial risk! I need to make mine a little faster, have to re-do the wiring, most of it is too long. I saw Ah Wee and gang try to kill each other last Sunday, it was fun, need to learn to fly better first though.
So what is with this cloak and dagger? I hear the site in Kapah is pretty nice but at present its 'private'. Hope that what you are working on comes through ... see you Sunday?
