LONE TREE, CO -- RCUniverse.com today announced the launch of its new "RCU-Book" to provide market values for popular R/C products sold through the active RCUniverse Marketplace. "Our RCU-Book lets buyers and sellers look up past sales of an R/C product and review the sales price, item condition, number of days on the market and the selling description contained in the original ad for the item," said RCUniverse spokesperson, Larry Eddy. Members of RCUniverse.com can find values by looking up products directly from the RCU Product Guide, which contains more than 4,150 airplanes, cars, boats, helicopters, engines, electric motors and radio equipment items. Individuals posting or reading marketplace ads can also click directly to the RCU-Book information for the advertised item to see historical sales sorted by product condition. Each sales record contains the number of transactions taken place, the high and low price, the average price in each condition category and supporting information, including the number of days the item was on the market and a pop-up box containing the sellers original ad description. "The supporting sales information is critical because it allows buyers and sellers to peek behind the averages and understand why the item sold for the ultimate price," said Eddy.

The RCUniverse Marketplace is part of a network of R/C sites all connected to the central market hosted by RCUniverse.com, so it gathers transactions originating on more than 20 different Websites, including those of the AMA, R/C Car Magazine, RCRacing.com, RC Report Magazine and Quiet Flyer Magazine. "We average nearly one hundred sold products every day. As our database of sales grows so will the power of the RCU Book," said Eddy.

RCUniverse has been able to create a unique informational service because of its site architecture and design. Unlike typical, forum-centric Websites, RCUniverse.com was built using product-centric, database-driven technology. As a result, everything from market ads to forum posts are interrelated and categorized by the products to which they relate. What a great idea! The potential benefits of having this available are terrific.

Unfortunately, I looked up 5 different aircraft I currently own and only found two sales total (for one of them). Once it's been active for awhile though it should be wonderful.
