And now we all know why you need to reset the memory when programming in a new model so everything is back at its base setting and all mixes reset.

All I know is that I used to get "hits" from all over, so I decided to put my Futaba on the shelf and bought my first JR radio to try out. That was the end of my "hit" problems, I never had another problem with hits and I sold my Futaba off. For that reason alone, I'll never use Futaba again.
And it's funny, but the same exact thing happened to the guy who bought my Futaba!
