Default Royal Air 40T Mark 2

Does anyone know who makes or made the Royal Air 40 T???? Have chance to get both a 40T & 20T that have never been flown but can not find any where. Any help or comments would be helpful. Thanks Larry[8D]

Royal was the distributor. Like most ARF's they were probably made overseas.

Man, you're talking vintage, there. A Royal 40T was my first "store-bought" R/C airplane- in 1986.

Thinking back, and comparing to today's offerings, IMO the airframe is fully the equal of any current production trainer. The hardware was crap, but nothing has changed there in the intervening years... except for a few stand-outs like the Sig LT-40.

You would not be unhappy with the 40T. One possible problem might be the covering. As I recall, it was your standard-issue low-temp adhesive backed shelf paper. Worked okay for its purpose, but if the model has been stored in high heat, it would probably be quite brittle by now. Have a look before buying. Never saw the 20T, so I have no opinion on it.

Yup, definitely made overseas. Big deal; 99% of them are nowadays.

They are identical to the 20T and 40T trainers now sold by HobbyPeople. May even come from the same manufacturer. Royal and Aristocraft do bring back memories of the 80's and the begining of the ARF.
