Default Who's yer Pilot?

Another Rainy Saturday in North Florida, looking up at my Slow Poke hanging from the ceiling, I was wondering who has a pilot in their plane that is a little different than the normal scale pilot? Here is my pilot of choice, Snoopy. Lets see who has something different!

Saito_56, are you my father? no, just kidding. but here's the similarities...my parents live in J-ville, my dad flys r/c (well, he's working on it, anyway). he stuck his hand into the prop on his brand new SAITO 56, and he's got Snoopy as the pilot of his sportster. uncanny, hunh?

yep, small world! my dad hasn't started flying again, just yet. he does frequent the field, though. he's a member at the field near the prison camp. his name is Jim Quinn...he'll be the one missing the tip of an index finger (not an r/c accident)

Here is a link to a web page of our little club, that flys at the Lannie Road Flying field. Lots of pics, and if you click on the shot on the front page, you will get a larger arial view of the field.

Default Pilot

I am in the process of bashing my buddies ARF to a Sort-of-Cub and wanted to add a pilot. After finishing some electrics recently and using photos for a pilot, I figured I could take a picture of my buddy Euc and glue them to the fuse like he was looking through the window. Here is one of them -

There was a kid that lived on my block that looked like yer pilot - his parents had to tie a pork chop bone to his leg to get the dog to play with him.

Default PETA

Buz - The PETA I like is the one that is People Eating Tasty Animals. My buddy Larry built a 1/3 Cub years ago. His cat would nap in the fuse. When he finally completed it and loaded into his trailer, the cat followed. At the field he started it up and the cat jumped in. Well, the cat went for a flight. After that it was the routine to take the cat and let it fly. At one show, some animal hugger called the sherrif - that was the end of the cat flying days.

100, great story, but you have to admit, tooooo many things could happen, and then think of the bad press we'd get, i remember in science class we launched rockets with live mice in em, things sure have changed haven't they,

Default Bad Press

Buz - You are right about the bad press - for us. What a crock though. Take a cat for a ride and we could be crucified. But what my buddy who lives on 30 acres down the road from me is going to have to do with the 30 or so cats and kittens that are multiplying like rats around his barn, and not much is said. I did mention it at a graduation party several weeks ago and some woman got all hysterical - she had all kinds of ideas like taking them to the vet to be sterilized - and I said if she paid for it I would take them - at @ $75.00 each times 30 plus food - she declined. She was real good at telling someone else how to spend their money, but not hers. She also didn't want them dropped off at her house so she could give them to her friends either. It is sort of sad when the press has to make news with contrived controversey, rather than just report on it.
