RE: New aircraft transport!
I would love to have a minivan for hauling my planes...but I can take my jeep off road to find where the deer and the antelope play!

I had a minivan up till February, and then bought a new Chevy Colorado Pickup and put a shell on the back. It is perfect for what I need. Will add a pic later.

This should be in one of those "you know you're addicted to RC when......" threads.......
You know you're addicted to RC when you purchase new vehicles based on how many planes they will carry.

So does that mean when I go Peterbuilt shopping I have a problem? You will like the Explorer. Last weekend I got to use mine to pull a big F-350 super cab out of the ditch at the field. They backed it against a bank to get the four wheeler unloaded to grade the drive way and could not get out. Just watch for nitro dripping on the leather.

Hey Congratulations!
I have a 97 Explorer that I bought new a few years ago. They are great for planes. I am able to put my GP Patty Wagstaff and my H9 Super Cub into the back at the same time with no problems. I know a guy the took his H9 1/3 scale Cap with him when he bought his Ford.

iflynething. a great little truck for the first time driver is the ford ranger with extended cab. before the explorer thats what i had. it was a 4cylinder standard. i could fit a few planes in the bed and one in the cab. it also wasa very reliable. but after 178,000miles, she was getting tired. so i got the explorer.
DrDeath and DFWS: if you're interested, i now haunt www.explorerforum.com frequently under the same user id (ifixairplanes). its a great site with great people that will help you with any question you have on your trucks. hope to see you there! it's definately helped me with mine!

Yep, hes only 20? He will change his ideas of manly when he thinks about himself[8D] differently. Responsibility, thats the key. I have a Eddie Bower Expedition and I think its a gas hog (11.5 mpg)and an over glorified Mini Van with 4 wheel drive. Just thinking out loud.

RE: New aircraft transport!
I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION:
My dad used to work as his own company doing the lights at show for just about everyone in the country music business..........well, he sold his lights about 5 months ago and he doesn't need the truck anymore........so he's goin to sell it sometime!!
Anyways, guess what we have out in the yard just waiting for that money from the truck to be fixed up: A DODGE CHARGER with a 440 Hemi!!! HHHUUURRRRAAAAAHHHH!!!!!.......Now that's what I'm talking about!!! LOL
I am hoping that we can get that fixed in the next few weeks.....doesn't need but about 4 grand to get everything that we want to put on it, and we'll get more than that for the truck.....so well be ridin in style and hopefully me driving it when I learn how in about a month......I'm not sure if he'll let me drive it though......IT'S HIS BABY....
That might be my plane toy transport system.....I know, I know, that Charger isn't a big car....well it is, but not enought........but who says that you have to bring every plane with you to the field........We could fit about 3 in ther (which is the number I'm about to have!!)
