The problem is that I made the mistake of doing business with him outside ebay (saw the deal at ebay but contacted him and we made the deal), and I sent him the money via Western Union.

What can I do?
Is there anyway to find his real address or phone number?

Thanks.

If this is for the, Hirobo GPH 346, those of us in the U.S. won't be able to help much. His location shows as London, U.K. Maybe someone on the other side of the pond can help you track him down.

Good luck.

If you made the deal outside ebay and sent money western union, you are pretty well hosed from them helping you.

Chalk it up to an expensive lesson. You might as well realize you lost the money and move on. Sux when that happens. In all my dealings on ebay, I have only gotten burned like that one time. It really bites when it happens.

This is one reason why ebay warns about making deals on the side and accepting other forms of payment from what they recomend.
An expensive lesson that the rest of us can learn from. Not as bad as the guy from Atlanta who bought a Porche for $14,000 on ebay and found out when he received it that the car was minus one engine.

Exactly what got me. A deal too good to pass up, no pictures, no feedback. Don't go there. Ask a seller to send specific pictures so they have to go take them. If they can't produce them, run away bravely.

Actually folks, there is something Danial can do. Apparently what the seller did is called fraud. Accepting money with no intention of sending the product. There are Federal laws that come into play. Even though you are a foreign national you might try filing a fraud complaint with the us dept of commerce. Google for mail fraud.

Sorry guys... we can't let this continue. If you want information about catching a crook ask the information generally. For example, "what would you do if..." and leave all the specifics out. That's the only way we can let a 'thief' thread stay active.
