Fairfax, Virginia Flying Clubs..?
Hi All,
I'll be moving to Fairfax, VA next month. What are some of the flying clubs in the area. I'll be living in the city for a couple years and then be moving west towards Prince William County. Any suggestions, websites...etc?
Thanks,
Harold

NVRC is the closest to fairfax. Decent guys, but a small field and ALOT of members. http://www.1nvrc.com/
A touch further out, near Haymerket, you will find PWCRC. http://www.pwcrcf.org/
And out towards Bealton you will find the FARM Club. (If you fly large aircraft, this is the place to go!!!) http://farmclub.torque-roll.com/ [take the dash out of torque-roll for link to work]

LCAA is a good place to fly, with a lot of nice guys.
The web address for the FARM club has no dash in between torque and roll.
Whenever I try to type in the full website, it comes out with *******. Don't know why that is.

Just a quick word about NVRC. While it is true that the field is not the largest in the area, and there are alot of members, over 250 at last count, the flying is great. Even with the large number of members, it is generally not that busy on the weekends, you can get alot of flying in.
Also, I must say that the members are great. Always willing to help out both new and experienced flyers. Several members have spent alot of time helping me learn to fly. There are some really great instructors. Not to mention, that Don Szcur flies there. He is amazing to watch and is one of the most patient instructors I have ever met.
