Default Good Deals lately??

Sunday My Son and I went to the LHS to get a few small items for his Talon, I met the new owner and asked if He had any backroom kits for sale? kits missing peices, slight damage etc.

He said he only had one at the time and had refered to a 300, then when he showed me the kit it was a 90% built 27% Cap232 by midwest, He said $100 bucks'
So I told Him it sounded good and would get an answer to him mon or tues for sure. (did not have enough $$$ on me and had to check the bill status with my wife)

After going home and telling my wife about the deal, I got one of the biggest shocks from her I ever had 'She said if I wanted lets go get it' I was Shocked but I took her up on it though, and I think I told her thank you a dozen times.
Sounds silly but her and rc are kin to electricty and water.

To me it was a very good deal for that size of plane, and her help was so suprising and an added plus.

What have You stumbled accross ???

I found an older gent who had a Miles Reed Weeks Solution X that had been sitting up for 10 years or so. It was built by the same person and at the same time time that one was built for Gerry Neal to fly in the TOC back in the late 80s and early 90s. The gent said it had been sitting up and needed recovering but it had very few flights and a hole was poked in the top wing. The engine was a very low time D&B 3.7 (twin gas). When I went to pick it up I found the plane in excellent condition and the engine like new. One roll of covering to fix the top wing and I got a super 77 inch WS Bipe--built professionally at TOC standards--with an almost new D&B ($1000 engine) for a mere $400. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then!

Well, I'd prefer one of those deals, but last fall I got a 25 size trainer with engine and all the radio gear for $60. Even had the battery packs already charged. I figured I could use it to train some new people and eventuall resell it to a kid with little money.

I also bought a 4* 40 with a Thunder Tige 52 four stroke, and servos (all look likes it's seen less than 5 flights) for $150.

At a swap meet 2 1/2 weeks ago, I got a Byron original CAP 21. It's missing wheel pants, and the styrofoam was dinged up in places, but I only paid $30! It's a big bird, 80" wingspan. I've already got the tail feathers sheeted, the fuse sheeted, and the horizontal feathers covered in Monokote. I'm going to try TERMIGATOR's 3D American flag for a covering scheme. I'm meeting with a buddy sometime soon to sheet, and vaccum bag the wings. I've got a 35cc Quadra, which this plane was designed for, but am thinking a 45cc Homelite might fly the holy living crap our of her better. Hi-torque servos on elevator and rudder, standard on each aileron. Target flight date, sometime in August. Can't wait!

and I think I told her thank you a dozen times.
You thank your wife a dozen times for letting you spend 100 bucks?

Sure you want to be posting that on the internet? :-) (obligatory smile)

You miss my point, She is not into these little toys we play with.

And yes I thanked Her several times because my hobby money is up to me (after bills and kids), and I appreciated her offer greatly. I get paid daily and I was ready to wait till Mon or Tue. but did not have too"

Posting it on the web (RCU) does not bother Me, I think highly of my wife.

Edit;
There are plenty of good deals above, happy for all of you.
