Airpark becomes waterpark
So, anybody getting too much rain? We have gotten over 4" in 24hrs and has been raining everyday for two weeks. Our field is now one big lake about 3" to a foot deep (add another foot when you sink in the mud). About the only thing to do now is get the floats on, pull out the old hip waders, spray gallon of mosquito repellant, and go flying between thunderstorms. The airport too is saturated and it seemes that every mosquito in 3 states has come there to have a breeding party.
Man, what a unusual July.
Our farmer/land owner is going to check the rice market today since his corn become fish food.

Sorry to hear that. Looks like it has been rainy this year. Last month was really wet too in Houston. 18 inches fell for the month. Could not fly as a result. The field has been flooded before in October of 2002. The field was a lake practically!

Almost same stuff here in Illinois, Scott. Lot's of water!!!!
Even worse, it seems like rain starting here Friday nights and ending Sunday around dinner time. Not every week, but it seems like it...
And just by watching weather channel I feel sorry for guys in the Great state of Texas.

Scott: We're pretty much the same here in Tulsa. Of course we aren't very far from where you are. Right now it is pouring so flying today is out. Not sure what the field will be like tomorrow. We have good drainage, but the ground gets like a sponge and stays pretty wet in this type of weather.

I was going to drop by the airpark at Copan, I wonder if it is ok being so close to the lake? I was there in 97 and remember the road being washed out.
