RE: does any body have a video converter???
Assuming you are talking "VCR" tape, you will need a video capture card.
Buy a Hauppauge card (forget the name, but they sell em at Circuit City / Best Buy) that has a composite input.
I think there is free software that will capture the video into Quicktime format for free. Gonna have to search Google for that.
Run your CV output (with audio if needed) into your capture card and run the software.
Pretty easy to do. Same applies to a video camera, should have a CV output (the yellow RCA connector).
PS. I work for a video manufacturer so am well versed in the AV industry.

RE: does any body have a video converter???
Crash: I too am looking to convert camcorder RC flight videos (digital8) to a PC format. Hope you don't mind if I pick your brain. My camera is an older Sony that records digitally but the only outputs are composit and s-video. No firewire or usb or anything else. As I understand it, this only allows me to transfer the video as analog thus loosing the digital quality. Then, on the computer, I reconvert them to digital loosing more quality. AM I right? Is there a way to transfer the videos to my pc using my camera and not loose quality? (Don't say buy another camera!)
Regards,
Jeff

Haven't tried anything yet. I don't have a cable that connects the camera to the computer yet but I have ordered one (s-video to usb converter).
