Default Cheap-o Plane-o

Hey guys,

I was reading a forum on another site- RCgroups.com - about a guy who bought one of those styrofoam gliders from Wallyworld ( 3.50). He cut out the nose (another guy used a pod), cut the control surfaces, hollwed out an area and jammed in a servo for the rudder, one for the elevator, hollwed out an area in the styrofoam for the ESC, RX, and Batt.

This thing actually flies pretty good----disposable fuselages !!!!!
break it? go buy another !!!!! the plane is called the Sky Rider...it has 4.5' wingspan.

Has anybody tried this? Success?? Advice??

I bought the smaller foam glider - called the Turbo Jet 2000. I have already cut the control surfaces, glued in the pin hinges, and am looking into micro servos.... i think this plane might actually fly !!!!!!

What do you guys think???

Default wow

Geeze, i guess i am getting shut out here.

Hey, that Wally Wing has potential. Kinda neat, huh?

anyway, i am forging on, iam going to build myself one of them there stryofoam cheap-o's just for the shear pleasure of it. The pleasure of seeing if i can truely make this a flying machine, controllable and landable .... wait, did i say that out loud?

anyway, just wanted to see if anybody was interested, had some kinda experience they could shaer, etc ....

i briefly thought about shoving my TT .61 up its nose.... um i could rubber band the fuek tank to 'er side.... or maybe a ducted fan???? eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaa the possibilities are endless man, absolutely endless.

Gotta go, time for the medication.

Default sky rider

i have never even flown electric, and i gotta learn about amps, current draw and all this crap..... maybe a hair dryer strapped to the back???

the Sky Rider seams to be the most popular model to bash..... there are others ... check out the Lanier U-2 splyplane glider to eletric conversions !!!

hey, i mean $4.- for the complete wings and fuse? gotta love that !!!!!

the Turbo 2000 that i got ( 24" wing) only cost $1.96...........

i'm still laughing.......
