Hi,
I will be in the Chicago, Il. area the weekend of Aug. 9-10. The actual city I will be in is Lisle, Il. Is there a flying field and/or hobby shop close to this area??
Thank You

You will definitely want to go to Al's hobby shop in Elmhurst. It is about 20 miles from Lisle.

As for flying fields, see this thread......

There is a Hobbytown in Naperville (Aurora) just up the road and one north in Geneva. Also there is G&D Hobbies about 25 to 30 minutes west in Sandwich right on 34.

There is a field just west of the West Field mall. Go south on 59 to 75th street and turn west. Continue for about 1/4 mile and make a right. The Naperville group flies in the Park right over there.

Here is there website: They use to be the Lisle RC Club.

Fox Valley Aero is located in St. Charles. Hobbytown has 2 locations, Geneva on Randall (closing but I don't know the date) and in St Cahrles on 64.

Go to Venture Hobbies in Wheeling, no one has cheaper prices around, not even on the Internet.

For hobby shops in your area, go to our beginners page, and enter your ZIP code. You will get a list of hobby shops!

I should have stated the same thing as "rc_sport". Venture is the best, ask for Brian the manager if you need any help, great guy, awesome pilot. Venture is up north and the contruction between the two can get a little scary.
