Default Frances wipes out Flying Griffins ( photos)

Hurricane Frances wiped out a major portion of our field, The Flying Griffins. We are located just south of Atlanta. The storm was just a tropical depression by the time it reached us but still packed quite a punch.

I think a work day is in order

Man, that looks BAD ! I have met a few of your members in passing at the Country Cloth and Hobby Shop. Sorry to see it happen to you guys. I live in Thomaston and, luckily, it didn't get that bad here. A few trees and powerlines down and that's about it.

I wouldn't say it was wiped out, the grass is still stuck to the ground, but I feel your pain. Best wishes on cleaning up. This is wiped out...oh look, pretty clouds, now where did I leave my house?

somebody was really unhappy with your frequency control method, otherwise--you got a field, and just have to avoid a few hazzards on the runway. No big deal?

Living in New Mexico/West Texas has advantages...At least our winds blow in a straight line most of the time...

Sorry about your damage. But agree with some of posts above...you have your grass, it looks level without washouts. A work weekend is in order for your members. That green and a shade tree looks good to me.

I don't think AMA will cover this []
