Cut Away
Hi Guys!
Well I guess you can call this post "show and tell" LoL....
I was reading posts and threads a few weeks ago on some other forums and found a thread about a guy who takes your old dead ugly engines or he can supply one and cuts them up, so you can see the internal working parts. I didnt have any pictures at the time but emailed him and asked to see some. His name is Herb and he's a nice guy, so we discussed via email these engines, he cuts them all himself with a machine. He is also a avid flyer has planes, cars, and now with his time cuts away engines. Well we discused the details and today they arrived. They are neat as can be!! I got a wooden stand and props with mine. There really going to look good either on a wall or at my desk. I know they would make a great coversation peice too. So here are some pictures, if you want more info just drop him an email.... I think there neat! And what a good way to do something with a dead old engine instead of throwing it away, he even cleans them up or nice and brand new looking. I think the pictures will speak for themseleves. Sorry I havent gotten around to hanging them yet!!
Here is his email address [email protected]

You can tell a good landing, because you only have to bend down once to pick up the model.

RE: Cut Away
I have a similar collection and it is of equal "conversation piece" material. I find that Asphalt and Desert sand do a great job on producing cutaways...and I didn't have to pay someone to do it...
Of course, my "art" does not resemble an engine per se, but let's not be picky... they all started out as engines!!
DP
PS: pretty cool!

Well I'm sure they are lighter but how do they run?

Imagine, sending this engine back to the manufacture, and saying, I was just trying to port it! Why won't it run?
