Has anyone wrapped a present in Monocote?
I hate to wrap presents. All those wrinkles, I began to think, if this was Monocote, I could heat out the wrinkles!
Alas, I'm too cheap!
So Happy Holidays too ALL!!!!!

RE: Has anyone wrapped a present in Monocote?
I've wrapped a few gifts in old bleu prints.
('Blu-line' paper is a really 'neat' colour blue, when just exposed to the ammonia)
I have also used newspaper. One gift, for my sister was wrapped pretty, then taped with paking tape. the whole thing in abotu 2 to 5 layers of packing tape..
Never in Monokote, figured the cost was a little too much!

dr. wogz, I've wrappen many a present in blue line paper and almost every time I sell something on ebay and I have to box it up, the recipient gets an intimate look at one of MANY chain restaurants.
Oh, I've wrapped an entire present (no box, nothing) in duct tape. used the whole roll. I think they are STILL trying to get that thing unwrapped and that was a few years back.

I think it would be too expensive to wrap a present in monocoat but that gives me an idea i have a plane that needs to be recovered maybe i should use all the wrapping paper when the kids have opened all the presnts and cover the plane with it it would be a lot cheaper than monocoat

I do regularly use "wrapping tissue" from the dollar store to cover planes....including the 1948 Comet Taylorcraft I just finished. I'd post a photo, but it's not an R/C model. I just built it for display.
I heard to many calls of anguish when I said I was gonna convert it to power....right Art?

Actually, yes. Pulled that one on my wife a couple years ago... Wrapped the present with normal wrapping paper, then covered with clear monokote. Drove her NUTS!!!! ( never again - I only get one warning )

I haven't wrapped a gift with Monokote, but I did make a Great looking bow out of scraps of different colors. The wife wanted to know where in the world I found such an exquisite bow. It looked very professional and unique. I had to confess. [:@]

Funny you should ask this question as I did do this to a
gift for a good friend of mine who hates Monokote.
I even left the backing on so he could use it later on one
of his planes...................NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We both agreed that I finally found a good use for that crap.

Roby
