Default WE ARE ALL SICK--(some more than others)

I have just experienced another milestone in my hobby life. Maybe you can relate to it---then again. maybe not.

Flying all giant scale I decided late last year to quit the buying/trading frinzy that I have done for the past number of years. I have a stable of high quality good flyers--while not the "lastest and greatest" and anybody would be proud to take them to any IMAA flyin. Not to mention that I have one more on the way that should be completed in a few weeks (by a pro builder nere on RCU).

With the new plane on the way I decided I could sell my Weeks Solution--so I did and with the new plane coming I would still have 4 nice giants and the foamie.

Then Monday, I had the super idea that I could sell my Super Decathalon. So I packed it in the Explorer and headed off to the LHS where I was going to offer a "killer deal" to the owner and pick up a few bucks. Two hours later, I arrived home with a like new Prophecy pattern ship and less $$$$ than I left with. Not exactly what I had in mind.Hmmmm

Then yesterday I took my nicest giant Extra to the field with my buddy for an afternoon of flying--I left home with one plane -- made an
'off the cuff" remark about a trade -- and came home with 2 planes in exchange for 1 (Wildhare Extra and GP Pitts-both with ZDZs--I have really missed my Pitts since it died a few years ago). No cash was exchanged and I got a couple of planes that I have really like.

So as I it here and wonder what happened, I continue to chuckle at myself-- 3 new/different planes in 3 days.[&:] I sure am glad to see that my plan of slowing down is working. (can't wait for my other one to get here )

It sounds to me like you have VERY serious problem [].

I would say that you should ship me all of your current aircraft to reduce the temptation.

Yea--tried that beforeDidn't work then either![&o] I sold everything 3 years ago -- here on RCU -- Had a guy drive from West Virgina with a big trailer and bought 10 planes, engines, servos, THE WHOLE LOT in a tremendous package deal! I sold a 29% Aeroworks Edge/DP Ultimate/33% Weeks/Giant Hots/ 1/3 scale Cub/Spacewalker/EAA Bipe and a few that I forget at the moment. His 7X14 foot trailer was loaded as well as the mini van he was driving. Told my wife I was only keeping 2 planes and that was it!

Heck, if I got rid of all of them, I would just have to replace them all +++

I went through the weeding out of planes I didnt fly or want any more a couple years ago, I had like 23 flyable ones at that time. well, now Im down to 8 planes, but have a ton more money in them than I did the 23+ I had then.... go figure... But they are sweet planes

If this hobby wasn't about the next project then it would get boring very quickly.

We are all sick ? You bet, each in our own way. Me, I'm flying a few 40 size planes. I work for a living in a small town. Tommorrow I will be putting the check in the mail for my first jet.

Well, this isn't looking good for me at all. Only 11 months in the hobby and I'm on my second radio, and I've had 5 planes. I lost one due to flutter. Building the 5th one now and am thinking about another kit when introduced later this month. Lots and lots of tools bought too.

[8D]Gotta stay within the RCU guidelines here. Couldn't help but notice that you're from
A(for airplanes)burn, AL (short for ALways flying). I live in east Tennessee, otherwise known
as Big Orange (color of my Sig Spacewalker II) Country. Go Vols (as in Volunteer
Air Force??)!!

JCOKEEFE,

Yep, good ol' Auburn. Went flying today too. A little wind, but not bad. Hope you have good weather up there this time of year.

[8D]Today was great for early February, sunny, high fifties and light winds.
Unfortunately, winter is not over yet.

Went to the LHS yesterday to pick up a Futaba xtal I had ordered at the end of December. It was already paid for.
Wasn't gonna buy anything else. Wound up with not only the xtal but (4) servos as well.

Sick indeed! I just convinced the oldlady that a trailer was a good idea so I could get the planes out of the bedroom......please dont tell her that I now have a way to transport the 33% bird I want....
