Please take a moment today to remember those that lost their lives in the terrible act of terrorism that happened last year on this day.
Also, say a thanks to those that worked so hard in the rescue effort and also those that are fighting for our freedom and against terrorists around the world.

I agree
Today, I think the whole world is united with the US in remembrance of 9-11-01.
Although I will remember all who died, as a Brit living in the US, I will not forget about the 56 British citizens who also perished on September 11th.

9/11
I will never forget that day. With all the other emotions I went through the one that never left was Anger. It swelled up again today. I now know what my Dad meant when he told me how he felt when Pearl was bombed. He said he was angry and it wouldn't go away. He joined up . Navy, South Pacific, gunner. We only talked about it once. When I was older. He said it was Hell but he felt better because it had to be done. My oldest son is a Marine. Sergent,M.O.S. communications. He told me he volenteered to go over right after the attack. He was angry. He said it would make him feel better if he could help get them. "It had to be done" was his exact words. Ironic! Can you imagine the pride I felt. I thought of that all day. It helped.

I realize this is not RC related but as long as the other Mod's don't have a problem and Marc doesn't I believe we should let it open. We (RC'ers)need a place to chat about this tragic event in US history.

I still remember riding home on Rt 17 North in New Jersey that day. On part of the ride, I saw the smoke in my rearview mirror. Two days later, I could see the NYC skyline riding into work. Still smoking, still missing two towers and thousands of people. I wish I was young enough to join up, I would have.

As I sit here in my chair in front of the computer trying to find a reason to be happy on this my 22 birthday. The only thing I can really think about is what I saw on October 8th of 2001. I was sitting on my ship in the Northern Arabian Sea watching the tomahawk cruise missiles fly over head toward Afghanistan.

I agree, from one vet who saw combat to another, THANK YOU!!!! It's good to know we have people who are willing to go into harms way to protect us here at home. My only wish is that I were young enough and not disabled so I could go and stand next to all of you and do it all over again. I think this is one non r/c thread that needs to stay right where it's at!
