Question for you audiophiles out there...
I'm looking for a top-shelf wireless headphone system for my TV, so the wife can watch it when I'm crashed. I have a Sony big-screen plasma TV, and I just purchased and installed a Sony version of this gadget. She was monumentally unimpressed. "Too much white noise" was one complaint (sounded fine to me, but what do I know?)
Also, the device is infrared line-of-sight; when she goes into the kitchen, no sound, period. Time for Plan B.
Any advice/experiences gratefully accepted...[&o]

RE: Question for you audiophiles out there...
Hi Steve
I guess it's my day for taking back cutsie answers, even though it is probably, essentially the right one, in a twisted sorta way.
Even the best wireless headphones are not going to sound as good as medoicre wired ones. On top of that, you are probably trying to convince her that they are "almost" as good at the 7.1 or 5.1 system she really wants to hear. There is no great or easy solution.
Wearing ear plugs like you use to shoot may, in fact, be the best solution. At least you can hear if someone yells "fire" close enough, but, they should block the TV... assuming you aren't crashed on the couch next to her.
