1st Flights This Year!!
Finally, temperatures were warm, winds weren't blowing large trees over, had the time, had the honey do's done. Everything charged, and did a fairly good pre-season check on the planes and found nothing worse for the winter wear.
I was able to get several flights in today and man, it was a long winter wait! (Yes, I'm a cold weather wuss) But boy was it worth it!
Going back out again tomorrow, maybe I'll get the new T-34 up?
Is there anyone out there that still has weather so bad you can't/won't fly yet this year?

Our snow just left last week. Now, I have to wait for the clu'bs field to dry out. I'm hoping to get my first flight in, next weekend. By then , the access road to the field, should be stable enough to support the weight of my truck..

It is Sunday, April 3, 2005. It is snowing, and raining. I can hand launch (maybe) but they don't make landing gear that will do muck. I have to wait for it to dry out. Now it looks like I can add about a week to let the ground dry up some. A week with no rain or snow......

Forecast for tomorrow here is light winds and a high of 80. We've already had to cut our field grass 2-3 times.
Your likely to see as many out at the field tomorrow as you were on New Years day here.

It been raining, and snowing. and icing, with 15-20 mph winds since October.
This is the longest winter of my life. It motivated me to build a kit, which I haven't done in years.

Same boat here. Getting the honey do's done and spent the last months of evenings getting my Funtana 90 air worthy. Now shes done and sitting on my bench at home. I am patiently waiting for a nice Saturday to get out there. Like you I am a cold weather tabby. I hate it. My planes hibernate for the winter. Although the Sim gets a good workout. Gotta stay nimble on the sticks.
