Heading off to Kuwait for 4 Years
Can antbody help me please.
I have just spent the last year in China, taught myself to fly over the past 6 months and now it's time to move on and I am worried that my new found passion with fade away.
I am going to Kuwait for about 4 years, so I was wondering if anyone at RCU know's of any current users of this forum that are based in Kuwait, or have had any experience out there and maybe know some club's I can contact.
Thank's for the help.

Oh! Painful memory! I read that thread too. Anyway, why not try the members locater on RCU? You can sort by name, or where they are from. Seems I've seen several RCU members from Kuwait. Good luck!

Thanks for the help.
I am not sure how long it will take to settle in but I will continue to Visit RCU as long as I have breath in my lung's. I will find a computer some where that I can use.
I have found a model store that imports World Models, SIG and Skymaster Jet's. The guy who run's the place say's there are many purpose built airfield's. HAPPY DAY'S.
NO MORE KITES AND POWER LINES[:@].............

I was in the desert for 5 years, late 70s and early 80s, long as you have the US Mail you will be OK. You will need to find a firm flat surface to fly off of, salt flats are good. You will probably find others persuing the hobby over there like yourself, we had a multi-national group around Riyadh that flew every Friday, our day off. Try not to scare the camels!

Don't worry - There's a few guys at Camp Victory (While they are there) that fly. Heard tell that a few locals (Kuwaiti) have started a club. Just spoke with SGT Sloan 2 days back and he was laughing about crashing his U Can Do and covering the wing with "100 mph tape" Improvise - Adapt - Overcome.
Tip for ya since your going to be there for so long. Don't allow yourself to become repetitive....in as much as I'm speaking about your drive home etc. Don't take same way every day. Change your driving habits - where you shop etc. You'd be surprised at the people who are watching you. Don't become a target.

Smoggyboy,
There are several places to fly in Kuwait. You want to contact Al-Hamar Hobby Model (LHS) when you arrive (+965-4831083). The main shop is in the lumber souk in Shuwaik and is difficult to find the first time , however they have a small shop at the Muthanna Shopping Center downtown as well. The owner, Samir, or Kamar, one of his employees will help you with local contacts. There were several active sites including one associated with the Kuwait Science Club. Al-Hamar is pretty well stocked and carries JR gear, OS and YS engines, World Models, and several other major brands of supplies.
Good luck and give my regards to Samir and Kumar.
regards,
Bill
