Default Fieseler fi156 Storch

I have a plan for a 68 inch Stork from (I think) AMA, plan #136 for a .23- to .45 engine. I wanted to build it but I don't know if I'll evr get around to it. I wonder if anyone has built and flown one from these plans. One of the guys in our club has a Stork make from a Giant (?) Telemaster - 12 foot wings. I've never seen it fly, the few times he tried it it didn't respond to the ailerons too well and kept crashing. If anyone knows of any bigger (like 90 four stroke) plans for one I would be interested too.

Default Fieseler fi156 Storch

[I have a Storch that I built a couple of years ago from the AMA plans. I had several problems with it It builds as a very light model - less than 4LB, but rather fragile. There is no CG shown on the plan and first time I flew it was tail heavy and I had a rough landing, which tore the wing mount plane right out of the fuselage. I rebuilt that whole center section with ply and put the CG 1" back from LE. Its heavier but flies very nicely. Have fun with it.

I am finishing one right now. The main problem at this moment is to remove a problem with engine vibrations. The Storch is an Svenson kit. It has a wingspan of 240 cm.

Bye,
Vincent

Default Svenson here!

Mine is over 25 Y.O. has nav/landing lights, fully scaled out with rivets, rib stitching and cockpit. I have flown this model with an O.S. 80 2 stroke (twin plug), O.S. 61 gear drive, O.S. 91 four stroke and the best by far Y.S.91 swinging an 18x6 prop. (more pics. in my gallery)

If you are in the US, you can get a Storch 50% ARF kit from www.internet-rc.com made by Aviomodelli, a Mantua Model Group company.

Default Fieseler Storch plans

Am currently buiding a "cartoon" scale Storch from my own plans. For geared Speed 400. Span 52 inches, estimated weight 24-26 oz. Cartoon scale simply indicates simplified detailing but with in air lookalike.
Best plans for the Fi 156 I've come across come from Dennis Bryant in the UK who does two sizes at 72 inch span and 96 (I think). I believe that one of the UK landing gear firms also does a set of fully spung gear to suit the larger version but no idea of cost.

Hi,

I need help !

I have an old FIESELER STORCH, I've build this plane from a svenson kit 20 years ago. I would like to make it fly again.
The plans have been lost in a fire and I don't know where to put the CG of this plane any more.

Can someone please help mee out by telling mee where to put the cg of this plane.

Thank you.

Hi there Slowbatics, I'm a new member, and I too have a Svenson kit,. I built it about 30 years ago and never finished it. Well it's back out of storage and back in the hanger. I will be going with E-power and sure would like to hear about a reccomended motor, ESC, and LiPo set up if any one has a clue. The aircraft was stored/displayed at a local hobby shop, however the kit box and parts were stored in my barn where the racoons got to it and chewed everything or used it fo a litter box. Could I possibly get a copy of the plans from you?

Thanx Sponda

Bob Holmaan http://www.bhplans.com/ has CAD plans and laser cut short kits for a 70" and a 94" Storch.
