Must sees in Vegas?
I'm going to be "stuck" in Vegas for a week for a family get together. Any hobby related things I've got to see while I'm there? I won't have room to take any planes or boats, so I was hoping there might be some interesting shops to visit.

Well, I've got to have something to do during the day, not into gambling, and I will have my wife and 2 year old daughter with me, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to see the headlight display at OG's. Actually, my wife would be interested, maybe we can leave the rugrat with the grandparents a few times.

not sure if you are into helis or not but if you want to see one of the best heli pilots in the world (if not the best) find out where Alan Szabo flys and head there. The kid phenomenal! My two cents.

Las Vegas has at least four LHS, the number varies. A least two are the typical bubble pack chain stores but the real prize that would be a mistake to bypass is Nice Twice Hobbies on the north side of town. This atypical shop is located in an industrial complex with almost no storefront. The entry is into a small room filled to the ceiling with goodies (new, used, new obsolete and everything in between). This room opens up into a much larger room agine filled to the ceiling and finally the last portal opens into the the large warehouse filled with much more and a huge collection of completed aircraft for sale (agine new and old).
The priceing is whatever you make it. The proprietor is very much the wheeler and dealer, A flim flame man of the hobby if you will, that I enjoy dealing with if not just for the entertainment value. Twice Nice could appropriately be called a modelers tourist attraction much in the same way that T&A Hobby Lobby in North Hollywood Ca. is.
The TOC site is located at the east end of Russell Rd and the other end of this road goes right to the airport terminal (its a short drive). As stated already it is next to the Silver Bowl stadium and is a free public flying site that requires no local club affiliation. The LVRC club is based there and have lots of events. I heard that Big Al Szabo is now the president and little Al flys there along with the smaller brother on occasion.
They also hold two night flys a year at Jean dry lake that are lots a fun and quite a party. The most fun though are the two XC events a year that are off site of course.
Piper if you care to venture an hour and forty five minutes south crossing over the Hoover dam to kingman We would be pleased to have you visit and if you are not traveling with airplanes, no problem we'll get sumthing for ya to fly.

I'm going to be down there my self this weekend for my big brothers girlfriends graduation from UNLV. We are going to go and check out Win. Win is the new casino that has been open for about a week. My mom said that they have a car collection too.

Fletch, Wynn is really nice, we wandered through the casino and lobby for a bit. I didn't notice a car collection, but they do appear to have a Ferrari dealership.

RE: Must sees in Vegas?
John, thanks for the tip about Nice Twice. I stopped by there on Monday. Met Denney, the owner. Seems like a nice guy. There were a few things I was tempted by, but in the end, I didn't end up buying anything. It was fun to see the shop. Also thanks for the invite to Kingman. Wish I could have gotten over there, but the closest we got was to the dam. We went on a tour bus, which I normally despise, but it was a decent trip.
