Default What to do with stray dog?

Hey guys,

This dog has been around the farm all day, it has a coller and no one knows where it came from, I dont want to call animal control because I know the poor thing will end up dead.. Its very friendly and pays attention, Its just sleeping on my step like it belongs here... Also, does anyone know the breed of it? Its not big enough to be a husky.

Thanks,

Shane

Keep him, Strays and mutts make good buddies. He is probably very scared and confused. Looks like a husky mix of sorts.

Thanks, I'll wait a coupel days and see if the owner calls because I put it on the radio. He seems like a nice dog, been sleeping on the front step now all night. My beagle doesnt like him though.

Looks like an Air-dale, or maybe a Cessna Retriever. See how he does around your planes.

He's a good lookin' dog! [sm=thumbup.gif]

If you decide to keep him, take him to your Vet ASAP and get him checked out for all the usual suspects (worms, fleas, etc) and get him his shots. Since you already have a Beagle you don't want to take a chance that the stray has any communicable dog diseases that can jeapordize your family pooch.

Jeez, this isn't even about a stray dog at the airfield. Let's stop and think about it for a second...hmmmmm. I don't want to call the dog catcher cause he'll kill the poor thing so I'll post on RCU cause they'll know what to do!

Shane, wake up dude, the owners are probably looking for him and where is one of the places they'll look, RCUniverse? NO, they'll go to the animal shelter. If you are so concerned than check up on him and tell them to call you before they put him down.

Next step...I'm at my computer, connected to the Internet...oh yes, Google to the rescue.

http://www.canadasguidetodogs.com/nsrescue.htm

They'll help find him a good home if the owners don't show up.

Sorry for the harsh reply but you need to think a wee bit before you post stuff like this, now where's a moderator to lock this thread down?

Here I am.

BB is correct. Contact the animal Shelter - You don't have to leave him there, but that's where the owners will look.

And RCU is not the place to discuss this.
