IMAA has stopped publishing the membership numbers in the minutes. The last report, Jan 2004 the Secretary/Treasurer reported that on September 1, 2003 the IMAA annual reporting date of membership, was 8,912 with 481 of these overdue. More recent reports (1/1/05) state only the the membership is down 242 for the year with 250 or so overdue. I would put the membership are right around 8500 at this point in time. The high was 12000+.
AMA membership is down about 5000 from something around 170,000 at its peak.
