I forgot one bipe. I have the new Hangar 9 Sopwith Camel hanging in there and flight ready as well but haven't taken any photos of it yet. It's electric powered with an E-flite 46 outrunner and 4s Lipo battery.
Hmmm... now that I look at the picture, I see that I also missed the Great Planes Tigermoth. That's a terrific flyer.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
Hello all.
I have a question and need help, I bough this airplane for from the young kid in my area but don't know the model name for it, also after re-covered and setup I have a trouble to set up the ailerons for both wings so here are my question.
Is that airplane is Stearman oR Red Barron?
How to position the control horns for the ailerons to get the thrown even on both up and down.
Thanks, Tom[image

Was that hog bipe an Arf? If not, nice work on the covering scheme! Don't scratch that pretty table burl that it is sitting on though LOL!!!
A friend of mine found a oak burl like that out in the woods in Minnestota and spent weeks cutting it by hand. That was 40 years ago and he still has it as a coffee table - simply beautiful.

The Hog Bipe was built from a SIG kit by my bro. He designed his own striping and colors and covered it himself. Looks way nicer in person. Awesome performer too!!
The table was made by my DAD about 20 years ago. He made all of us kids each one and had his house full of burl tables, lamps, plant stands etc etc. That was his hobby and the planes are ours.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
sourkrout, you are fairly close to where my friend lived compared to me. Sounds like your Dad is awesome. Something made by hand is WAY better than any gift that is bought at a store. I wish I had one of those im my home.
You said that it looks way better in person than in pictures? That must be a truly impressive plane because usually it is just the opposite - pics are better than the real thing to cover up the flaws!!!!
Merry Christmas,
Jeff

My wife sez there's no more room but she is clearly underestimating the capacity of the garage and the ingenuity of the person filling it I just have to be careful to avoid being sentenced to sleep out there.

Hey Joe! Long time no see. I haven't been down to the Griffin field in quite a while. Still with the Fayette club. I miss the old field off 74. That was a nice place. Good to hear from you. I like the Super Cub in your gallery. Nice looking bird.

Here's a Pitts that my dad scratch built from blown up McFarland plans. It's going to have a G2300 superTigre in it. Instead of going for the typical red scheme, we've decided to cover it with a cream and maroon, like the first Pitts plane. Looks pretty good. I've got some pictures at work and I can post one from there tomorrow. Here it is before covering.

Alive and well!!!!
Here's how the Pitts looks today. I've fired it up a few times and we're getting ready to put the flying wires on it tonight. I think it looks great! And the fact that my dad built it makes it that much more special. Now, to fly it without crashing it!!!!!
I just purchased a Bob Dively Pitts that was assembled 2/3 of the way already. Dad wants to get started on that one next week. It'll be a little bigger than this one and we're trying to figure out what scheme we'll put on that one as well. Maybe time for a poll?

the kit gear. Made a heavy landing, nothing extreme, and the gear bent. I thought that
it would hold up better.
Thanks.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
Awesome Pics,, spring must be near,,, well I'm finally putting a 70 4 stroke on my GP ultimate bipe, can't wait to see how she runs now as I've had a .46 LA on there for 4 years now, it flys okay with that but she has been starving for an upgrade since day 1.
I just turned my Twist 40 into a Tri-plane but it can also be flown as a Bipe so now its a 3 in one plane,, providing it flys that is the maiden will be in a few weeks once we can access our field from the spring thaw. so herea a couple pics of her.

And the man GOLFS too!!!! When do you ever find time to do the more mundane things in life - like eat & sleep?
Fantastic planes! I've been a fan of that Hawk since I was 7 (and that was quite a few decades ago), but those Staggerwings are sweet. Should you ever need extra room, feel free to send a few up my way - I'll keep them limbered up just fine for you (LOL).
Right now, I'm working on my very first biplane - an old 1933 Great Lakes 2T-1A that was kitted by Scale Lines Models in 1961. Actually, this is a restoration project. I found the plane in a yard sale just after Christmas and she was intact but in pretty sad shape. Got some pics in my camera but I'm one of those "experienced" (hate saying "OLD") types that hasn't gotten into the digital camera age yet so it's gonna be awhile before I can put them up here. When I found this thread I was hoping to find someone with a bit of biplane experience - I now know that I've found a gold mine! Thanks for being here guys. I'm sure there's going to be a few questions coming to y'all in the near future.

RE: Lets see your Biplane!!!
JCOKEEFE.... I never even flew mine with the stock wire landing gear. This plane is to heavy for the supplied wire gear. I used a Great Planes brand 90 size aluminum gear and trimmed off about 1/3. I was going to use the 60 size but the 90 size is a thicker material and this plane comes in at around 14lbs. I then painted the gear black, put on the checkered flag decals and clear coated them. I have been flying it this way for 1 1/2 years with absolutely no gear trouble whatsoever. That is one of the knocks on this kit is that the gear is to flimsy. Good way to screw up a beautiful looking and flying plane is to have the gear collapse on landing and go through the bottom wing. In the above pictures I have the wire gear installed with my homemade leggings but the wieght of this plane would make them bow even on the work bench so I changed them over before the maiden. I will try to get you some pics of my current gear this weekend.
Hope this helps
Cheers
