I've kept it to RC only. If I cross the line into control line then next it's free flight, full scale & who knows what's next. I'll leave those topics to the sites dedicated to that stuff. They don't call it "RC" Universe for nothin'
Thanks for the suggestion though!

I dunno Marc, the CL guys are pretty darn clever and us RCers could learn a lot if only we weren't so snobbish. Nobody but nobody can tune an engine as well as the CL stunt guys.
Similarly FF. Back in the days before RCO went to the dogs, visiting the FF forum was like escaping the stench of the city to drop a dry fly into a riffle, watching a flight of mallards settle onto your dekes at sunrise, or sipping a cold dry martini on your patio after a lousy day at the office.
It's your website and you may do as you will, but CL and FreeFlight both have valuable lessons for the RCer serious about perfecting his craft.

Marc, I may have gotten on the wrong side of you. That was not intentional. Please give me another shot...

You know, we could probably get Billy Hell to put music to that and have ourselves a hit!!

CONTROL LINE!!! They don't even have radios, what are the odds that they have a computer!!! They probably have some sort of "snail mail CL universe" with homing pigeons or the Pony Express!

I agree...that makes no sese at all. What is the point? Why not tie a string to a post, let the plane fly in a circle and use the radio for the throttle and elevator and sit in the shade in a lawn chair? If you are going to the trouble of using a radio......cut the wires....fly....be free........YEEEE HAAAAAAAW!!!! That is where the fun is.

One other thing that would crossover into RC and that CL guys seem to be better at than just about anybody in RC... Paint and finish work. Of course, most RCers just buy ARFs now anyway....so...the majority of us might not be interested in that kind of archaic, mundane subject matter after all.

I bought ARFs in the begining when I was learning to fly. Now, I take pride in building and building the way I know will benefit me in the way I fly. Yes the ARFs are quick and easy but for me, there is not a better feeling when all the guys are staring at my plane with all the ooos and aaaahs and compliment me on my building skills. And I am new in the hobby by a year and a half and have built three kits and scratch built one from my own design.
I guess it is what you enjoy most in hobby. Some guys don't want the tedious job of sanding gluing......and covering and the ARF is the best for them. I enjoy the building and for me, it was a must so I would feel complete as a R/C pilot. I would not rest until I mastered it.
Oh.....by the way......I just picked up my Lanier Stinger 60 ARF!!!!
It was a birthday pesent fom my loving wife!

No worries Mike! Nobody's perfect or an English major. The funny thing is we knew what you meant and every one was having a lot of fun at the C/Line flyer's expense and could have cared less if you spelled something wrong or not! This forum is the greatest and I have learned a lot from all of you guys. Thanks!

BrrrrrrBrrrrrrrrrBrrrrrrrrBrrrrrrrr....look at me Mommy.......I'm going in circles..........Look at me......look at me.........I am flying.............wheeeeeeeeee!"
Mother:
"OK Theodore......put that STUPID TOY away now! The Special Ed. bus is here to pick you up now..........stop drooling on your new Power Rangers shirt........and get on the bus!"
