The Hobby Quest: Aviation Program in Schools
For anyone living in the NJ - NYC - LI - New England region I'm pround to introduce The Hobby Quest: Aviation Program in Schools and the Hobby Quest Club. Right now we are currently in about 35 schools in Bergen and Hudson Counties NJ with plans for expansion in several hundred elementary schools over next few months. If you live in these regions and want to find out if we are in your child's school now you can email us from the website.
In a nutshell we are an aeromodeling and aviation academy that teaches thousands of students K-5 the art of building and flying airplane models. We also run the Hobby Quest Club which teaches aeromodeling (RC) to kids 10 and up. We have 4 locations in NJ for the Hobby Quest Club right now and plans for expansion into other regions around the US in 06.
Anyhow if you wanna see more come visit us at [link=http://www.thehobbyquest.com]www.TheHobbyQuest.com [/link]
Thanks!

Thanks! I just downloaded their package and will present it to our Club at the next meeting. It seems to be in the the right area for us (Central NJ) so I think it will fly. Thanks again for the heads up!

It all depends on population in a district. It's easier to open a new district which is concentrated around a heavier population demo, especially like in the NE corridor.
Also we are hiring instructors in the NJ region and district managers for Washington D.C., Boston and Philly regions. Contacts and job info is on the website.
Oh sure, where were you 35 years ago when I went to school in Bergen County NJ?

Dion,
That is so great on many levels. Has the AMA gotten on board with any support? It seems like something they should have come up with years ago.
I used to work with an orginization that taught SCUBA in high schools as a P.E. class on a similar independant contractor basis. It was a lot of work but rewarding and the schools were very receptive to our program.

Dion,
I spoke with Jay Mealy this weekend and mentioned your program. He said there were some similar programs around the country and that the AMA offers support in the way of free/discounted supplies and educational materials. He said you ought to give them a call and see what is available. I don't think the onus is on them to contact you.

I'll give them a call, but we don't really need supplies or materials as we are a corporation. What we do need is a simple way to sign up more then 3,000 of our students with the AMA with a very simple way. Come Jan we'll have about 10,000 students a year and that's a lot of paperwork to push through to sign them all up. Most of our planes are free flight, but I would still like them all to be a card carrying member of the AMA if possible.

3 Yr old rising star Justin Chi and his father Benny paid a visit to The Hobby Quest Club to fly AeroFly Pro on the computer. Little Justin showed some our students how they will be able to fly someday when they are his age, I mean at his level. As you can see Justin doesn't like having his father have all the glory!

Dion:
How did it go at the Armory? I think others are trying to arange something near Tapanzee Bridge as it is closer to WRAM than Teaneck. I would prefer the armory as it is closer to me as long as none of the armory people show up to spoil the 3D fun.
