Electric or glow is personal choice. I like the sound of an engine turning 15 to 20 thousand RPMs. Others prefer the simplicity and quiet of electrics. If you've already got some electric stuff, that might tilt the balance toward electrics, likewise if you've already got some glow support equipment. Otherwise, do some reading and find a local club to get a feel for what each one is like. Doesn't matter which you choose, the important thing is that planes are the right choice.

Stick around the RCU and read up on ALL the options...for planes that is. You'll find a lot of help here.

If you already have an electric truck, which I think you do, I'd broaden my horizons and get one of the most excellent park flyers and find some local help learning to fly.

You won't regret it.

I need noise when I fly. None of this sneeking around stealth stuff with an e-heli.

Based on your writing skills I'd save the money and invest it. Looks like you will need it.

Don't mind B.B., he's always full of encouragement for new modelers.

Maybe you should tutor him B.B., BTW, go back and check your own spelling on a few of your recent posts.

DOH!

Based on your personality I'd spend some and buy a clue.

I changed my mind about my first post and telling you to save the money. I think you should spend it on an RC car because your posts fit in better with the car forum where lack of grammar and spelling is the norm. I don't think anyone will deny that there is a differance in the average post of the car forums compared to that of the plane forums.

Maybe you should get a plane instead. That way you'd be encouraged to read and post in the plane forums instead of the car side and your writing skills might improve.

This is true, but some of us still don't use the correct words. For example in your RCReport writings I note you still say you "Build" ARFs.

Haw! Gotcha!

Bill.

Is this really necessary? Is this is an R/C site, where most people are friendly and help each other, or a place to pick on others by pointing out errors in their writing?

people are mean on this web site
Most people on this site are not mean, they are quite helpful. There is a significant difference between the writing in the car forums and the plane forums. In general, the people in the plane forums try to write in proper English, use the shift key, spell correctly, etc. It doesn't always happen, but in general, they try. Without going into the differences, I'll just say that the writing in the car forums is significantly looser. Many of us who participate in the plane forums realize that things are done differently "over there", but would prefer that it remain over there.

Following the traditions of the group you are interacting with is a form of respect. While nobody can force another to attempt to use proper English, when they do so it is taken as showing respect to the group. When one shows respect, it will be returned. Show disrespect, and it's often the case that people won't be interested in helping you.
