Trailer for RC flying
Does anybody have a trailer just for their RC flyng hobby. I don't mean a living type trailer, just something about 8 feet long, 5 feet wide, and about 4-5 feet floor to roof, with a towing A frame to hook up behind the family sedan.
If there's another thread on this, somebody direct me and I'll delete this one.
I'm interested in designs as I'm about to launch into building one.

RE: Trailer for RC flying
My Dad had one when he was really into flying the bigger stuff. He made one and started with an 8' utility trailer. He created a box by using corrugated metal for the walls and lid. Basically, he used 2x4 framing to make the shell and lid, then he attached the corrugated aluminum to it. The lid opened on both sides and he would use the underside of the lid for wing storage. If I can find a picture of it, I will scan it and post it for you. It was a pretty sweet setup that he had. He sold it when he got into golf more. I don't think he has the plans b/c it was scratch built but I will check with him.

There's a whole bunch on making a homemade trailer and you can probably find it so just do a search. I'll take a look around, and if I find it I'll let you know what the link is.

Thanks Roy, I found one here

Looks like plenty of information there for me.
The link you gave me doesn't bring up anything even after I cut and paste to the browser.

I have a 8 1/2 foot Car Mate trailer that I tow behind my 1996 Lumina sedan. Gets the job done Just added a transmission cooler on it to be safe, but otherwise works ok

RE: Trailer for RC flying
Ross , I built a trailer once and used morris/austin 1100 hydrolastic swinging arms (rear) there was a kit out to convert them to compressed air , and I could adjust the ride height/travel to suit the loaded weight , and not bounce my planes around with too stiff springs that most use
this works very well Ian
